Every June 21, Plaisir celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, conservatory students, and local artists perform for free in the streets, squares, and cultural venues of the city. The day is entirely free and open to everyone, from families to open-air concert enthusiasts.
The Fête de la Musique in Plaisir
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Plaisir, in the Yvelines, into an open-air stage every June 21. Music takes over public spaces for free in the evening, across all genres and for all audiences, to celebrate the arrival of summer.
A festival at the heart of the city
Usually, the festival brings together local singers and artists as well as students and teachers from the city's conservatory, with stages set up in several neighborhoods. The Parc de l'Hôtel de Ville (City Hall Park) and the conservatory are among the venues regularly used to host open-air concerts.
