Free concerts in parks and open-air cafés on June 21, 2026
Every June 21, Rezé celebrates the Fête de la Musique at the gates of Nantes: parks, open-air cafés along the Sèvre riverbanks, and town squares transform into open stages. Organized by the City of Rezé, the festival is entirely free and brings together music school students, choirs, brass bands, batucadas, and artists from all horizons, from rock to electro, including world music.
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms Rezé into an open-air stage every June 21. At the gates of Nantes, on the south bank of the Loire and along the Sèvre Nantaise, music freely takes over parks, open-air cafés, and town squares to celebrate the summer solstice and the beginning of the beautiful season.
In Rezé, the Fête de la Musique unfolds over several days and in several locations. The Parc de la Balinière is its heart, with ensembles from the municipal music and dance school, complemented by the Guinguette à Léon on the banks of the Sèvre, the Parc Paul-Allain animated by the media library's music café, or even the Château de la Classerie. Conservatory students, choirs, brass bands, batucadas, and local groups perform alongside invited artists, in all styles: world music, rock, electro, chanson, and Gypsy music.
The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Rezé will take place on Sunday, June 21, free of charge throughout the city. The Parc de la Balinière, the Guinguette à Léon on the banks of the Sèvre, and the Parc Paul-Allain will host music school students, choirs, brass bands, batucadas, and guest groups, with concerts from morning to evening.
Overview of the stages announced for the 2026 edition:
Heart of the festival: concerts by orchestras and clarinet ensembles in the morning (10 AM-11 AM), then in the late afternoon (6 PM-7 PM) a concert celebrating Gypsy cultures, blending song, music, and dance with the quartet Amar Arbaã.
The celebration begins the day before with students from the municipal music and dance school (orchestras, dance, choirs, batucada…) and the music-focused classes of the Pauline-Roland school. Highlights include a festive concert of Reunion Island music at 12:30 PM and a table puppet show accompanied by the Balinière wind orchestra at 4 PM.
100% Rezé program: the choir of Collège de Pont-Rousseau, the associated choir of La Soufflerie, the New's Fanfare and Cool Musique united as a banda, the rock group The Dracirts, and DJ AnnaB'L (electro indie dance).
The media library's music café takes over the park with the Balinière batucada.
