About Music Festival in Rillieux-la-Pape
Every June 21, Rillieux-la-Pape celebrates the Fête de la Musique around Place Maréchal Juin: musical parades by schoolchildren, giant batucada, entertainment and open-air concerts. Organized by the City of Rillieux-la-Pape with MJC Ô Totem and the l'Alouette music school, the day is entirely free and blends gospel, harmony, rock and festive Balkan music.
The Fête de la Musique in Rillieux-la-Pape
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the commune of Rillieux-la-Pape, in the Lyon metropolitan area, into an open-air stage every June 21. From mid-afternoon until evening, music freely takes over public spaces, organized by the City, MJC Ô Totem and the l'Alouette music and harmony school.
A celebration gathered around Place Maréchal Juin
The heart of the celebration takes place at Place Maréchal Juin. The afternoon begins with musical parades bringing together hundreds of Rilliard schoolchildren, who converge on the square from several points in the city. This is followed by a giant percussion batucada, entertainment and large family games, then evening concerts mixing styles, from gospel to harmony, from rock to festive Balkan music.

The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Rillieux-la-Pape will be held on Sunday, June 21st, free of charge around Place Maréchal Juin. Schoolchildren's parades, a giant batucada, family entertainment, and evening concerts will punctuate the day, supported by the City, MJC Ô Totem, and the l'Alouette music school.

Place Maréchal Juin — Afternoon
The festival opens with three musical parades bringing together approximately 800 schoolchildren from Rillieux, who converge on Place Maréchal Juin from MJC Ô Totem, the Anciens Combattants roundabout, and Brosset Park. This is followed by a giant batucada led by the percussion group Les Guerriers tambourinaires, then family entertainment and large games (« La Roue tourne », the big game Cékikoukan) as well as a live broadcast of « Culture à l'instant T ».
Place Maréchal Juin — Evening Concerts
In the evening, the stage hosts free concerts of various styles: a gospel ensemble, the Harmonie de l'Alouette, the rock band The Electron, and festive Balkan music with Bal'kanards.
