About Music Festival in Vienne
Every June 21, Vienne, in Isère, celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, local bands, and Conservatory ensembles freely take over the squares, streets, and gardens of the historic center. Organized by the City of Vienne, the evening is entirely free and blends all styles, from blues to rock, electronic music to choirs and orchestras.
The Fête de la Musique in Vienne
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Vienne into an open-air stage every June 21. At the foot of Saint-Maurice Cathedral and in the narrow streets of the old center, music freely takes over public spaces, from early evening until late at night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festival spread throughout the city center
The City of Vienne sets up several stages each year in the historic heart: Place Aristide-Briand, Place du Temple, Place de Miremont, Rue de la Table ronde, Parvis de l'Hôtel de Ville, Esplanade Jean-Paul II, Salle des Fêtes, and Jardin de Cybèle. In addition to these official stages, there are concerts from bars, associations, and establishments in the city center, where bands and amateurs can play freely.
The Vienne Conservatory of Music and Dance plays a central role in the festival: its student and teacher orchestras, its jazz, blues, and pop combos, its string orchestra, and its percussion ensemble animate the Jardin de Cybèle stage.

The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Vienne takes place on Sunday, June 21st, free of charge throughout the city center. Several official stages set up by the Ville de Vienne animate the squares and streets of the historic center, from early evening until late into the night, complemented by concerts from bars and associations.
