Musik'Air: The Gâtinais Festival Since 2002
Founded in 2002, Musik'Air Festival was born from a desire to offer an accessible and friendly contemporary music event in Montargois, in the east of the Loiret department. For nearly two decades, the festival was held in a unique setting: a covered stage or a circus tent set up in the heart of the Vélodrome de Montargis, nestled on the edge of the forest. This unique configuration helped forge the festival's identity and ensure its regional and national reach.
A New Lease of Life at the Château de Lisledon
In 2022, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, Musik'Air made a major shift by moving to the Château de Lisledon in Villemandeur. This majestic, wooded estate offers an exceptional setting to welcome a larger audience. Two stages operate alternately: the main stage, programmed by Philippe Guyard with an eclectic selection for all audiences, and the second stage, entrusted to Fyre Events, a Montargis-based collective specializing in electronic music and DJ sets.
An Eclectic and Committed Program
Each year, the festival offers a varied program mixing rock, punk, reggae, dub, dancehall, electro, rap, funk, and world music. Over the years, Musik'Air has hosted renowned artists such as Shaka Ponk, Zebda, Asian Dub Foundation, Sergent Garcia, Max Roméo, les Wampas, Oldelaf, Le Peuple de l'Herbe, KO KO MO, No One Is Innocent, The Inspector Cluzo, Ragga Sonic, and Sidi Wacho, while also opening its stage to emerging talents and local bands.
A Family and Eco-Responsible Spirit
Musik'Air is distinguished by its family and friendly spirit, designed for all generations. Admission is free for children under 15, and since 2025, the festival has offered daytime activities on Saturdays: country dance initiation, slacklining, giant wooden games, face painting, and food trucks. Labeled eco-festival since 2014, the event implements responsible practices: reusable cups, selective waste sorting, and dry toilets.
Driven by an association of about twenty active members and supported by around 100 volunteers during the festival weekend, Musik'Air embodies a model of an associative festival rooted in its territory, opening the summer festival season in Centre-Val de Loire each year.
