Music and heritage on the paths of Compostela
Musique en Chemin is a festival that combines classical and contemporary music with the landscapes and heritage of the Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle paths in the Gers. La Romieu, a village classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the heart of the festival.
Concerts take place in the magnificent Collégiale de La Romieu, a World Heritage site, but also in other remarkable locations in the surrounding area. The exceptional acoustics of these spaces enhance the musicians' performances.
The festival is not limited to concerts. Conferences, vocal discovery workshops, traditional dances, and moments of conviviality complete the program. Musique en Chemin creates a dialogue between music, arts, ecology, and societal issues.
True to the spirit of the Compostela paths, the festival emphasizes meeting and sharing. Artists are close to the audience, exchanges are easy, and there are many opportunities for conviviality.
The 16th edition of the Musique en Chemin Festival takes place from July 23 to 25, 2026 in La Romieu, in the Gers, with an additional date on August 8. Concerts, conferences, and workshops focusing on repertoire and new music, echoing other arts, ecology, and societal issues. Many events are free to access.
