Free open-air rock festival in Scionzier
Musiques en Stock is an entirely free contemporary music festival, born in 2001 in Cluses on the initiative of the association Macadam. After fifteen successful editions in the Arve valley, the festival reinvented itself in 2022 by setting up its stages in Scionzier, a neighboring town at the foot of the Haute-Savoie mountains. Every early July, for three days, the festival hosts headliners from the rock, indie, punk, and contemporary music scenes in a friendly and popular atmosphere, true to its DNA of free access to culture for all.
Founded in 2001 in Cluses by the association Macadam, Musiques en Stock quickly established itself as one of the must-see events for rock and contemporary music in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The festival experienced spectacular growth during its first decade: from a few thousand spectators in its early days, it surpassed the 20,000 festival-goers mark in 2004, then 25,000 in 2005 and 2006, reaching nearly 30,000 visitors between 2007 and 2010.
After a break in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in 2017, the festival took a pause before being reborn in 2022 in Scionzier, regaining the energy and spirit of its origins in the heart of the Arve valley. The town of Scionzier, with the support of the Department of Haute-Savoie, now hosts this event which combines artistic ambition with total freeness, a combination that has become rare in the French festival landscape.
Musiques en Stock's programming navigates between rock, indie, punk, French chanson, and world music, with a strong taste for artists at the crossroads of genres. Over the years, the festival has hosted prestigious names from the French and international scene, confirming its status as a talent scout and a musical catalyst for all of Haute-Savoie.
Located at the foot of the Faucigny massif, between Cluses and Bonneville, Musiques en Stock plays an essential role in the cultural animation of the Arve valley. The festival unites a network of committed volunteers and benefits from the support of the town of Scionzier, the Department of Haute-Savoie, and local partners. Free entry without reservation, subject to availability, embodies the philosophy of a resolutely open and popular event.
The 2026 edition, scheduled from July 2nd to 4th, promises an exceptional lineup with, notably, Archive, a cult British progressive rock band, and Babyshambles, Pete Doherty's group. Curtis Harding, a figure of American soul-rock, The Sophs, and Max Baby complete a bill that mixes confirmed legends and revelations.
