Created in 2011 by ACEL Théâtre, the Néons sur Scènes festival is a summer event that transforms the village of Néons-sur-Creuse into a true space for artistic creation. For two days, the squares, gardens, and halls of the village host diverse performances, taking over every corner to offer the public an immersive and friendly experience.
The strength of Néons sur Scènes lies in its eclectic program that blends professional and amateur companies in a spirit of sharing and discovery. Theater holds a central place in the programming, with original creations and repertoire pieces presented by ACEL and invited companies. Music is also very present, with concerts of French chanson, classical music, and world music that set the rhythm for the evenings.
Storytelling and readings complete the program, offering intimate moments of listening in a garden or courtyard. Film screenings and exhibitions by local artists enrich the program, making every corner of the village a place for artistic discovery. Between performances, a street brass band wanders through the village, creating a festive and good-natured atmosphere.
ACEL Théâtre is an amateur theater company based in Néons-sur-Creuse that animates the village's cultural life throughout the year. By organizing this festival, ACEL affirms its commitment to making live performance accessible in rural areas and creating connections between residents, artists, and visitors. The company also presents its own creations during the festival, demonstrating the vitality of amateur theater in the Berry countryside.
Néons sur Scènes cultivates a warm and welcoming village spirit. The on-site refreshments and light catering, managed by volunteers, provide a place to gather between shows in a relaxed atmosphere. The intimate format of the festival, with limited capacity and unusual performance venues, creates a closeness between artists and the public that is the charm of this event. The bucolic setting of Néons-sur-Creuse, a village at the gates of the Regional Natural Park of Brenne, adds a picturesque dimension to the experience.
