The Museums Night 2026 took place on Saturday, May 23, 2026 in Toulouse, as part of the European Night of Museums, a major national and European event organized by the Ministry of Culture. For one evening, museums and monuments opened their doors for free at night, from dusk until midnight.
In Toulouse, six municipal monuments participated in the 2026 edition (Chapelle de La Grave, Le Castelet, Monument à la Gloire de la Résistance, Chapelle des Carmélites, Église du Gesù and Couvent des Jacobins), alongside the major museums of the metropolis. The program included: guided and self-guided tours, mediations, fun trails, concerts and shows, for all ages.
The Museums Night is the Toulouse version of the European Night of Museums, a national and European event supported by the Ministry of Culture and scheduled every year on a Saturday in mid-May. For 2026, the edition took place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with over 3,000 participating museums in France and Europe.
The principle: to open museums and monuments for free in the evening, from dusk until midnight, to allow the public to (re)discover collections in a festive and friendly atmosphere. Access is free.
