Nuits de Sologne

The legendary pyrotechnic show of Lamotte-Beuvron

Lamotte-Beuvron — Loir-et-Cher (41) Since 2005

About Nuits de Sologne

The Nuits de Sologne was a national-scale pyrotechnic show organized every year on the first Saturday of September at the Parc Équestre Fédéral in Lamotte-Beuvron, in Sologne. Created in 2005 by an association of pyrotechnics enthusiasts, this unique event transformed the Sologne sky into a grandiose spectacle with 7 tons of fireworks displayed on a 300-meter facade. Each edition was built around an original theme combining music, video, and pyrotechnics. Attracting around 20,000 spectators from over 70 French departments and even from abroad, the Nuits de Sologne established itself as one of the largest pyrotechnic shows in France. The 2025 edition, titled 'Les Années Folles' (The Roaring Twenties), was the 20th and final edition, as the association announced the definitive end of the event due to the increasingly high cost of renting the equestrian park.

Nuits de Sologne: Twenty Years of Pyrotechnic Magic

For twenty years, the Nuits de Sologne illuminated the Sologne sky with an extraordinary pyrotechnic show, which over the years became a national benchmark event. Organized every first Saturday of September at the Parc Équestre Fédéral in Lamotte-Beuvron, this unique gathering brought together thousands of spectators dazzled by the scale and creativity of the show.

An Exceptional Pyrotechnic Show

Each edition of the Nuits de Sologne offered a themed pyrotechnic show lasting approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, combining fireworks, special effects, synchronized music, and video projections. 7 tons of pyrotechnic material were deployed over a 300-meter facade to create a spectacular light display. The themes varied from year to year—legends of Sologne, space conquest, time travel—offering a unique narrative and visual experience with each edition.

20,000 Spectators from All Over France

The event attracted around 20,000 spectators from over 70 French departments and even from abroad. The first Saturday of September became a must-date in the event calendar of the Centre-Val de Loire region. Families, groups of friends, and pyrotechnics enthusiasts gathered each year to experience this moment of collective magic.

An Associative and Volunteer Commitment

The Nuits de Sologne were driven by an association of pyrotechnics enthusiasts, created in 2005 by local volunteers from Sologne. The event relied on the commitment of dozens of volunteers who dedicated months of preparation to each edition. The evening also included opening concerts, on-site catering, and entertainment for a complete festive experience.

The Definitive End After the 20th Edition

In July 2025, the association announced the definitive end of the Nuits de Sologne after the 20th edition in September 2025. The rental cost of the Parc Équestre Fédéral, owned by the Fédération Française d'Équitation (French Equestrian Federation), had become too high for the association, which wanted to maintain an event accessible to all. The agreement was not renewed, and no alternative site was found. The last edition, titled 'Les Années Folles', took place on September 6, 2025, in an atmosphere charged with emotion, offering a grand finale to twenty years of spectacle.

A Cultural Legacy for Sologne

The Nuits de Sologne leave a considerable legacy in the cultural landscape of Sologne and Loir-et-Cher. The event contributed to the tourism appeal of Lamotte-Beuvron and the region, attracting visitors each year who extended their stay to discover the natural and heritage richness of Sologne. The memory of these nights of light will remain etched in the minds of tens of thousands of spectators.
