Kizomba is a dance of Angolan origin that emerged in the 1980s, blending influences from traditional semba and Caribbean rhythms. Characterized by its sensual movements, intimate connection between partners, and deep musicality, it has conquered dance floors worldwide. Semba, older and faster, tarraxo with its electronic sounds, and urbankiz, a modern and creative fusion, complete this ever-evolving family of dances.
Founded in Orléans, the Association Afro Lat'IN Connexion is committed to promoting Afro-Latin dances in the Loiret region. It offers regular classes and practice sessions in La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin and organizes events to unite the local dance community. The Orléans Kizomba Festival represents the culmination of this effort, with the ambition to place Orléans on the map of kizomba festivals in France.
