Classical Music Festival at the Carmes Monastery of Trie-sur-Baïse
Since 1997, the Nuits Musicales de Trie-sur-Baïse have been enchanting music lovers on Ascension weekend. Founded by Jean Laforge, former director of the Paris Opera choir, this classical music festival takes place in the sublime Carmes Monastery, described as the "supreme jewel of the region".
The Carmes Monastery of Trie-sur-Baïse, founded in the 14th century, offers a remarkable architectural and acoustic setting for concerts. The former convent church and the cloister create an intimate atmosphere conducive to listening and musical emotion.
The festival hosts internationally renowned artists: pianists such as Maurizio Baglini and Lydie Solomon, flutists, harpists, vocal and instrumental ensembles. The program mixes classical, baroque, and contemporary repertoire, with a particular focus on chamber music ensembles.
The Nuits Musicales are organized by a 1901 law association run by passionate volunteers, under the presidency of Marie-Pierre Casteret. The festival benefits from the support of local authorities and contributes to the cultural influence of this Pyrenean village of 1,000 inhabitants.
The 2026 edition of Nuits Musicales will take place on Ascension weekend at the Carmes Monastery in Trie-sur-Baïse. The program will be announced in Spring 2026.
