Romanesque Nights offers over 170 free cultural evenings during the summer, centered around Romanesque monuments specially lit for the occasion throughout Poitou-Charentes. Each Romanesque Night is structured in three parts: heritage discovery, artistic time with professional artists, and a friendly exchange around local products.
Romanesque Nights are a dialogue between the region's Romanesque heritage masterpieces, the art of architectural lighting, and live performance. Created in 2005, this festival attracts over 164,000 spectators each fine season to celebrate heritage and contemporary creation.
Each Romanesque Night unfolds in three parts: a knowledge segment with accredited guide-lecturers presenting the Romanesque heritage, an artistic time with professional artists (music, theater, dance), and a convivial moment around regional gastronomic specialties.
