The extreme music festival of Anjou
Born in 2019, Omega Sound Fest fills a gap in the extreme music landscape in Anjou. Created by the association CROM and Omega Sound Prod, this festival has quickly become the essential event for metal, punk, and hardcore enthusiasts in the Angers region. Located just five minutes from Angers and an hour from Nantes, the Centre Culturel Jean Carmet in Mûrs-Érigné offers an ideal setting for two evenings of intense concerts.
Each edition features ten bands spread over two evenings in a covered venue. The programming covers a wide spectrum of extreme music: metal, death metal, stoner, punk, hardcore, folk metal, and many other subgenres. The festival alternates between headliners from the French and international scene and emerging bands, offering a showcase for the talent of the French metal scene.
Since its creation, Omega Sound Fest has experienced steady growth. After attracting over 2,000 people in 2024, the festival continues to develop while maintaining its friendly spirit and human dimension. The atmosphere is resolutely family-friendly (in the metalhead sense of the term): local beers, camping, parking, merchandising, and a warm welcome are the hallmarks of the event.
The festival is actively working to strengthen its accessibility measures for people with disabilities, with enhanced measures planned for future editions. This initiative demonstrates the organizers' commitment to making extreme music accessible to the widest possible audience.
The Omega Sound Fest returns on Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, 2026, to the Centre Culturel Jean Carmet in Mûrs-Érigné, five minutes from Angers. Two evenings of extreme music with ten metal, punk, and hardcore bands, including Fleshgod Apocalypse (Italian symphonic death metal), Moscow Death Brigade, Mimi Barks, and Karen Dió. Camping, parking, and local beers on site.
The Omega Sound Fest takes over the Centre Culturel Jean Carmet in Mûrs-Érigné on Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, 2026 for a new edition entirely dedicated to extreme music (metal, death metal, punk, hardcore, stoner). Ten French and international bands will perform on stage in a covered space, over two evenings, in the friendly and resolutely metalhead atmosphere that has been the signature of the Angers festival since 2019.
The program brings together Italian headliner Fleshgod Apocalypse (symphonic death metal), Russian collective Moscow Death Brigade, Brazilian artist Karen Dió, German Mimi Barks, as well as a strong representation of the French scene with Sun, Kami No Ikari, Malkavian, Shimmeric, Ice Chemicals, and Yharnam.
Camping, free parking, a bar with local beers, food trucks, and merchandising complete the experience. The festival offers a cashless system, a ticket exchange, and reduced or free rates for children accompanied by a parent holding an adult pass.
The day-by-day breakdown (Friday / Saturday) has not yet been detailed by the organization as of the verification date.
