The extreme music festival of Anjou
Created in 2019, Omega Sound Fest is the first extreme music festival (rock, punk, hardcore, metal) in Anjou. Organized by the association CROM and Omega Sound Prod, it takes over the Centre Culturel Jean Carmet in Mûrs-Érigné, five minutes from Angers, every autumn for two evenings of intense concerts. With ten bands programmed over two nights, in a friendly and resolutely metal atmosphere, the festival brought together over 2,000 people during its 2024 edition and has now established itself as a must-attend event on the metal scene of the Grand Ouest.
Born in 2019, Omega Sound Fest fills a gap in the extreme music landscape in Anjou. Created by the association CROM and Omega Sound Prod, this festival has quickly become the essential event for metal, punk, and hardcore enthusiasts in the Angers region. Located just five minutes from Angers and an hour from Nantes, the Centre Culturel Jean Carmet in Mûrs-Érigné offers an ideal setting for two evenings of intense concerts.
Each edition features ten bands spread over two evenings in a covered venue. The programming covers a wide spectrum of extreme music: metal, death metal, stoner, punk, hardcore, folk metal, and many other subgenres. The festival alternates between headliners from the French and international scene and emerging bands, offering a showcase for the talent of the French metal scene.
Since its creation, Omega Sound Fest has experienced steady growth. After attracting over 2,000 people in 2024, the festival continues to develop while maintaining its friendly spirit and human dimension. The atmosphere is resolutely family-friendly (in the metalhead sense of the term): local beers, camping, parking, merchandising, and a warm welcome are the hallmarks of the event.
The festival is actively working to strengthen its accessibility measures for people with disabilities, with enhanced measures planned for future editions. This initiative demonstrates the organizers' commitment to making extreme music accessible to the widest possible audience.
The 7th edition of Omega Sound Fest will take place on October 9 and 10, 2026, at the Centre Culturel Jean Carmet in Mûrs-Érigné. Ten metal, punk, and hardcore bands over two nights, with enhanced accessibility measures. Lineup to be announced.
