Perrigny Guitar Band: Guitar Comes to Perrigny

It is in Perrigny, a commune in the Auxerrois region on the outskirts of Auxerre, that a new musical adventure will be born in 2026, led by the local association Perrigny 360. The project is simple and exciting: to gather a collective of guitarists and singers each year to celebrate the greatest guitar legends through intimate unplugged concerts in the village's multi-purpose hall. Admission is free with conscious participation, true to the associative and popular spirit of the project.

At the initiative of Pierre, guitarist and narrator, and a handful of amateur and professional musicians from the Yonne, Perrigny Guitar Band aims to become an unmissable annual event in the region. Each edition chooses a theme — an artist, an era, a style — around which a carefully curated program is built, combining original compositions, arranged covers, and anecdotes about the lives of the celebrated artists.

The 1st Edition: A Tribute to Eric Clapton and Guitar Legends

For its first edition, scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 4 PM (the date to which the evening originally planned for April 25, 2026, was postponed), Perrigny Guitar Band places electric and acoustic guitar at the heart of an exceptional concert. This electro-acoustic unplugged concert pays tribute to Eric Clapton — ranked the second-best guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, behind Jimi Hendrix — as well as a galaxy of artists who have marked the history of rock and pop: Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Sting, Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, U2, Tears for Fears, Kansas, Bill Withers, and Chris Isaak.

The concert is structured as a narrative journey: the pieces follow one another, supported by a common thread of anecdotes and artist portraits, offering the audience a total immersion in the world of the greatest guitarists in rock history. The duration is approximately 1h30, for a show that aims to be as educational as it is moving.

A Collective of Six Artists

For this first edition, the Perrigny 360 association has brought together a collective of six musicians with complementary profiles. The figurehead is Hugues Renault, known as «Hugo» — a professional guitarist based in Monéteau (Yonne), specializing in blues, bossa nova, and jazz fusion, leader of the group Buzztown (Dixiefrog label, albums Hit the Road & Play the Blues in 2010 and Wherever You Hide in 2013) and founding member of Mélodia. Around Hugo, the rest of the collective is structured: Lisa (vocals), Stève (vocals), JB (bass and vocals), Nico (guitars), and Pierre (guitar, vocals, and narration).

A Cultural Project for Perrigny and the Auxerrois

Perrigny Guitar Band is part of a strong local associative dynamic. The Perrigny 360 association develops cultural and festive initiatives for the residents of Perrigny and neighboring communes. Perrigny's multi-purpose hall, with a capacity of 260 people and equipped with a 33 m² stage, offers an ideal setting for this type of event: intimate, warm, and accessible on foot from the village quarters.

By opting for free admission with conscious participation, the organizers are banking on maximum accessibility for the project. No classic ticketing, no prohibitive price: everyone comes and contributes according to their means, in a spirit of sharing and support for local living culture. The first edition was sold out, and the association is already inviting the public to a second edition in 2027.
