Plein la Bobine: Young Audiences' Cinema in the Spotlight
Since 2002, the Plein la Bobine festival has established itself as a must-attend event for young audiences' cinema in Auvergne and beyond. Supported by the association Plein la Bobine, this international film festival offers a demanding yet accessible program each year, designed to awaken the artistic curiosity of children and young people from the age of 3.
A Festival Between Town and Mountain
The originality of Plein la Bobine lies in its dual geographical anchoring. The festival takes place in two stages:
- Issoire: the first part of the festival with screenings and events in the town
- La Bourboule: the second part, an immersion in the spa town of the Massif du Sancy
This unique format allows it to reach diverse audiences and bring cinema to life in rural and mountainous areas.
A Rich and Diverse Program
Each edition is built around a unifying theme that runs through the entire program. Short and feature films, animated films and documentaries, French and international works make up a selection that highlights the diversity of perspectives and cinematic forms. Short film competitions (all genres and nationalities, maximum duration of 27 minutes) allow for the discovery of tomorrow's talents.
Much More Than a Film Festival
Plein la Bobine also offers hands-on filmmaking workshops, meetings with directors and film professionals, special events, and activities related to the year's theme. The festival asserts itself as an alternative to passive image consumption, inviting young viewers to become active and critical spectators.
A Success Growing Year After Year
Over the years, Plein la Bobine has built a loyal and growing family and school audience, confirming the increasing interest in quality cinema adapted for young audiences. The festival benefits from the support of the Académie de Clermont-Ferrand and numerous institutional and cultural partners.
