A unique festival in Alsace for wool lovers

The Printemps des Pelotes is a singular event in the Alsatian cultural landscape: entirely dedicated to the arts of wool, fiber, and artisanal textiles, it brings together knitting, crochet, weaving, and all fiber-related technique enthusiasts every spring. Organized by AMROF (Association des Amis de la Maison Rurale de l'Outre-Forêt) with the support of the Communauté de Communes Sauer-Pechelbronn, this festival has built a loyal community that returns each year to discover the latest trends and techniques.

More than 65 passionate exhibitors

The show brings together more than 65 artists, creators, artisans, associations, and specialized shops who exhibit their products and share their know-how. Visitors can discover and purchase a wide range of natural fibers — sheep wool, alpaca, merino, mohair, silk, linen, hemp — as well as plant and synthetic fibers. The stands also offer manufactured goods, knitting kits, fashion accessories and decorations, embroidery supplies, and original creations.

Workshops and demonstrations: ancestral gestures revisited

Throughout the festival, demonstrations and workshops reveal the secrets of ancestral and contemporary techniques: natural dyeing, carding and spinning on a wheel, weaving on a loom, felting with water and needle, knitting, and crochet. Experienced artisans passionately pass on their skills, allowing beginners and experienced crafters alike to learn or improve their abilities.

The Maison Rurale de l'Outre-Forêt: a heritage setting

The festival unfolds in two complementary spaces: the Maison Rurale de l'Outre-Forêt and the multi-purpose hall of Kutzenhausen. The Maison Rurale is an eco-museum housed in an authentic Alsatian half-timbered farmhouse that showcases the traditional rural life of the Outre-Forêt, this unique region in northern Alsace. The charm of this heritage site adds a unique dimension to the event, blending artisanal discovery with immersion in Alsatian rural heritage.

Ten years of passion and fibers

In 2026, Printemps des Pelotes celebrates its 10th edition, demonstrating the success and longevity of this original event. Year after year, the festival has grown, attracting an ever-wider audience, sometimes coming from afar to discover the exhibitors' creations and participate in the workshops. On-site catering offers affordable menus for lunch and snacks, allowing visitors to make the most of their day.
