An artistic camp in the heart of the neighborhood
Quartiers d'Été is the summer program of Le Mémô, an artistic creation space located in the Sauvoy district of Maxéville. Each summer, the Le Mémô team moves its activities to the Plateau de Haye, a priority district of the Nancy metropolitan area, to set up an artistic and collaborative camp open to all for about ten days.
Circus as a common thread
Contemporary circus is at the heart of Le Mémô's DNA and is the common thread of Quartiers d'Été. The program offers circus workshops led by professional artists: acrobatics, juggling, flying trapeze, tightrope walking, and floor work. These workshops, open to beginners and experienced participants alike, allow residents to discover circus arts in a supportive and fun atmosphere.
Artists in residence
Circus artists such as Jérémy Duval, Mathilde Clapeyron, Thomas Bristiel, Maxime Gérard, Guillaume Noël, and Emma Milesi share their expertise and create with residents. These urban artistic residencies foster encounters between artists and the public in a co-creation process.
Participatory workshops
Beyond circus, Quartiers d'Été offers a multitude of participatory workshops: participatory radio where residents take the microphone, collective textile creations, bread and pizza making in a wood-fired oven, and lantern and light object construction. These workshops are designed as spaces for intergenerational encounters and sharing.
Shows and highlights
The program culminates in fire shows, such as the Embrasement by the company Titanos, where the public is guided to the performance venue by a lantern procession created during the workshops. Concerts, a collective banquet, and festive moments punctuate the camp.
Le Mémô, an artistic creation space
Le Mémô is a meeting place for artists, technicians, audiences, residents of the Sauvoy district, and cultural sector professionals. Through Quartiers d'Été, it affirms its role as an artistic creation hub rooted in its territory, dedicated to cultural democratization and social cohesion.
A strong territorial commitment
By establishing its camp on the Plateau de Haye, a district undergoing urban renewal, Le Mémô contributes to the cultural animation of a territory in transition. Quartiers d'Été demonstrates the conviction that art and culture are essential levers for social transformation and living together.
