About Raymond Sommer Retrospective
Every year, the Rétrospective Raymond Sommer brings together vintage cars and motorsport enthusiasts on the former Cadours-Laréole racing circuit. The event is named in honor of Raymond Sommer, a three-time French champion who tragically died on this track in 1950 while driving his new Formula 2 Cooper. Established in 1948, the circuit hosted international Formula 2 races and, in 1954, a round of the international Formula 1 championship, before being retired after 1961. For several years now, the Association for the Promotion of the Cadours-Laréole Circuit has organized this gathering of classic cars and motorcycles, featuring track runs, live music, and on-site dining.
Raymond Sommer Retrospective — edition 2026
The 2026 edition brings together vintage cars and motorcycles on September 5th and 6th at the Cadours-Laréole circuit, featuring track sessions for registered participants. On Saturday evening, the band Baron Caiman will perform a free concert. Food trucks and a refreshment bar will be available throughout the two days, and a free shuttle service will be provided for visitors.

Track sessions are reserved for registered vehicles (cars, motorcycles, pre-war models) upon registration with the organizing association.
