Rencontres Nationales de Country

The national country gathering

Each year in March, the town of Issoudun in the Indre region hosts the Rencontres Nationales de Country, the largest country and line dance event in France. Organized by the Fédération Francophone de Country Dance et Line Dance (FFCLD), this event brings together hundreds of passionate dancers from all over France and Europe for three days.

Renowned international choreographers

The strength of the Rencontres lies in the exceptional quality of its instructors. Each edition invites about fifteen international choreographers, some of whom are world champions in their category. Participants have the unique opportunity to attend dance workshops from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, with adapted levels ranging from beginner to advanced. These workshops allow participants to learn the latest choreographies, perfect their technique, and discover new styles.

Country concerts and dances

The evenings are dedicated to celebration and dancing. Friday evening features a live country music concert, while Saturday evening is dedicated to the grand country dance that brings all participants to the dance floor. These moments of sharing and conviviality are at the heart of the Rencontres' spirit, creating unforgettable memories for the dancers.

Awards ceremony and conferences

The Rencontres also provide the occasion for the FFCLD's awards ceremony, which recognizes the best choreographers and performances of the past year. On Sunday morning, a conference on the history of country music enriches the event's cultural program, offering a fascinating insight into the roots of this musical and dance culture.

A unifying event

The Rencontres Nationales de Country is much more than just a dance festival. It is a true moment of reunion for the French country community, a time of sharing where learning, performance, and conviviality blend. The FFCLD, an organization approved for Youth and Popular Education and a member of the International Dance Council, makes this event the highlight of its associative year.
