Rock and Metal Convention in Issoudun
The Firemaster Convention is not just a concert festival: it's a true hybrid cultural event that navigates between a themed exhibition and a live music festival, all centered around metal culture and its derivatives. Created in 2020 by the association Tonnerre Productions, the convention first took place in Châteauroux before moving to the Palais des Expositions et des Sports d'Issoudun (PEPSI) starting from its fourth edition in 2024.
For three days, the Firemaster Convention offers a dense and varied program. During the day, the exhibition opens its doors with exhibitors, merchandising stands, conferences, round tables, and workshops on rock and metal culture. In the evening, the venue transforms into a concert hall to host national and international bands on stage. Over the years, the convention has hosted prestigious acts such as Tagada Jones, GBH, Les Ramoneurs de Menhirs, Nightmare, Lofofora, Les Tambours du Bronx, Airforce feat. Doug Sampson (ex-Iron Maiden), Gorod, Beyond The Styx, and Shaârghot.
Each edition of the Firemaster Convention is built around a strong theme that permeates the entire event. The third edition in 2022 explored the theme 'The cultures that shaped us', while the sixth edition planned for 2026 will revolve around the theme 'Metal and cinema'. This thematic approach distinguishes the convention from classic festivals and gives it a unique cultural identity, combining reflection and celebration of metal culture in all its forms.
Since its move to Issoudun, the Firemaster Convention benefits from a particularly suitable venue with the PEPSI, which offers modular spaces for the convention's various activities. The event actively contributes to the cultural influence of the Indre department and attracts a loyal audience from all over France, proving that the metal scene can thrive outside major cities. With around 1,000 festival-goers per edition, the convention maintains a human scale conducive to exchange and conviviality.
6th edition of the Firemaster Convention at the Palais des Expositions et des Sports d'Issoudun (PEPSI), from October 23 to 25, 2026, on the theme 'Metal and Cinema'. Three days of rock and metal concerts, conferences, round tables, thematic scenographies, and activities exploring the links between metal music and the seventh art. New for 2026: daytime access to the exhibition is free.
The 6th edition of the Firemaster Convention will take place from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25, 2026 at the Palais des Expositions et des Sports d'Issoudun (PEPSI). This edition revolves around the theme 'Metal and Cinema', exploring the links between metal music and the seventh art through concerts, conferences, round tables, and immersive activities.
During the day, the exhibition opens its doors with exhibitors, merchandise stalls, rare vinyls, crafts (leather, tattooing), and scenographic spaces built around metal iconography: a cemetery zone, a hotrod zone, a military zone, and a Viking zone. New for 2026: daytime access to the exhibition is free (Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM, Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM).
In the evening, it's time for concerts (7 PM – 1 AM) with two featured nights: a punk, hardcore, and extreme night on Friday, and a heavy, hard rock, and death night on Saturday. After the success of the 5th edition, which gathered approximately 1,000 enthusiasts, the convention confirms its roots in the cultural landscape of Indre and the French metal scene.
