The Vintage Festival from the 1930s to the 1980s
Since its creation in 2022, Rétro Folies has established itself as the unmissable event for retro culture enthusiasts in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Every year, the Ainterexpo exhibition centre in Bourg-en-Bresse transforms for a weekend into a veritable time machine, immersing visitors in the atmosphere of the legendary decades spanning the 1930s to the 1980s.
Three Halls, Six Decades
The festival unfolds across three themed halls, each offering a unique atmosphere:
- Hall A - Retro & Classic Machines: Musette ball and tea dance atmosphere with classic and vintage car exhibitions.
- Hall B - Yéyé & The 80s: Concerts and DJ sets covering several decades of iconic hits.
- Hall C - Pin-up & Rock'n'Roll: Rockabilly, rhythm & blues, vintage fashion shows, retro flea market and Miss Pin-up competition.
A Rich and Eclectic Programme
Rétro Folies features around fifteen live concerts over the weekend with rock'n'roll, rockabilly, swing and blues bands. Visitors can enjoy more than 200 m² of dance floors to learn or perfect their rock, swing and ballroom dancing, with demonstrations and classes offered throughout the day.
Classic and Vintage Vehicles
One of the festival highlights is the largest vehicle gathering in the Ain department, organised in partnership with the Tacot Club de l'Ain. The outdoor areas host exhibitions of exceptional classic vehicles: vintage cars, mopeds and period agricultural vehicles. On Sunday afternoon, an FFVE-certified elegance competition (Fédération Française des Véhicules d'Époque) awards the finest vehicles with prestigious prizes. Vehicle parades also enliven the weekend.
Entertainment and Re-enactments
The festival offers numerous activities for the whole family: a re-enacted 1939-45 army village, firefighter displays with period vehicles, Elvis-style Las Vegas weddings, hypnosis shows in period costumes, old-fashioned games, themed photo opportunities and various competitions. A retro and vintage boutique village lets visitors browse clothing, accessories, décor and period items, while an old-school tattoo area completes the offering.
Food and Conviviality
A Food Truck village and refreshment areas allow festival-goers to eat in a convivial atmosphere throughout the weekend.

5th Edition: Join us on June 27th and 28th, 2026
The Rétro Folies festival returns for its 5th edition on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th, 2026, at Ainterexpo Bourg-en-Bresse. This essential vintage festival, covering the 30s to the 80s, once again promises an unforgettable weekend blending nostalgia, entertainment, and conviviality, under the theme “3 halls, 6 decades, 1 retro evening”.
On the program: three halls covering six decades of retro culture with rock'n'roll and rockabilly concerts, 80s DJ sets, a vintage boutique village, pin-up gatherings and parades, over 200 m² of dance floors (introductions and demonstrations all day long), and the largest gathering of vehicles in the Ain department outdoors — vintage and collector cars, mopeds, period tractors and agricultural vehicles, sidecar rides, firefighter demonstrations, and a 39-45 army village.
La Boom de Folie — Saturday Evening
On Saturday from 7 PM, the “La Boom de Folie” evening extends the party until 1 AM with concerts and retro DJs. Access to this evening is offered at a special rate of 8 €.
FFVE Elegance Contest — Sunday
On Sunday at 2 PM, the traditional FFVE (Fédération Française des Véhicules d'Époque) labeled elegance contest, free of charge, rewards the most beautiful collector vehicles with numerous prizes. The weekend also features contests and elections for Miss Pin-up, Mini-Miss, Miss and Mister Vintage, and “The Most Beautiful Moustache”, as well as Las Vegas-style Elvis weddings, historical reenactments, and a Food Trucks village.

Saturday, June 27th, 2026 — 10 AM to 1 AM
- Opening of the three thematic halls: Retro & Old Mechanics, Yéyé & 80s, Pin-up & Rock'n'Roll.
- Rock'n'roll and rockabilly concerts, 80s DJ sets, on indoor stages.
- Over 200 m² of dance floors: introductions and demonstrations of rock, swing, and ballroom dancing, guinguette, throughout the day.
- Pin-up parades and entertainment, makeovers, Miss Pin-up, Mini-Miss, Miss & Mister Vintage, and “The Most Beautiful Moustache” contests.
- Outdoor gathering of vintage and collector vehicles (cars, mopeds, period tractors and agricultural vehicles), sidecar rides, firefighter entertainment, 39-45 army village, historical reenactments.
- Vintage boutique village (clothing, accessories, decor, toys, furniture), old-school tattoo area, Las Vegas-style Elvis weddings.
- Food Trucks village and refreshment stands.
- 7 PM — La Boom de Folie: retro evening with concerts and DJs until 1 AM (access 8 €).
Sunday, June 28th, 2026 — 10 AM to 7 PM
- Resumption of activities in the three halls: concerts, dance, pin-ups, vintage boutiques, Food Trucks.
- 2 PM — FFVE Elegance Contest (free): presentation and awards for the most beautiful collector vehicles, many prizes to be won. Vehicle parades.
- Continuation of contests and dance demonstrations, family entertainment, and old-fashioned games until the festival closes at 7 PM.
The detailed musical program (bands and performance times) is being finalized by the organization and will be progressively published on the official website and the festival's Facebook page.

Getting There
The festival takes place at Ainterexpo, 25 avenue du Maréchal Juin, 01000 Bourg-en-Bresse.
- By car: Ainterexpo is easily accessible from the A40 motorway (Bourg-en-Bresse exit). Over 2,000 free parking spaces are available on site.
- By train: Bourg-en-Bresse station (Paris-Geneva TGV line and regional TER). Ainterexpo is located approximately 3 km from the station.
