Independent rock festival in Châteauroux
Rockin' CHTX is an independent rock festival held in Châteauroux, powered by the association Yes We Can Can and Radio Balistiq. Spread across several emblematic venues in the city, including 9Cube, Le Bruit qui tourne, and L'Atelier de la poissonnerie, this itinerant festival offers a demanding program mixing psychedelic rock, indie rock, and garage. Designed as a musical journey through the city, it highlights the French and international alternative rock scene.
Rockin' CHTX is a rock festival powered by the association Yes We Can Can, also behind Radio Balistiq (103 FM), an emblematic community radio station in Châteauroux. Over three days, the festival takes over several cultural venues in the city to offer a demanding and discovery-oriented rock program.
The originality of Rockin' CHTX lies in its multi-site format. Concerts take place in various locations in Châteauroux: L'Atelier de la poissonnerie for discovery evenings, Le Bruit qui tourne for intimate concerts, and 9Cube for the grand finale. This journey through the city allows festival-goers to discover diverse cultural venues while enjoying a coherent program.
Rockin' CHTX's program features a strong emphasis on independent rock, psychedelic rock, and garage sounds. The 2025 edition notably hosted Arthur Satan, a figure of psychedelic rock from Bordeaux, and Bryan's Magic Tears, a Parisian indie rock quintet signed to Born Bad Records. The evenings are complemented by DJ sets from Radio Balistiq hosts.
Born from the energy of Radio Balistiq, a community radio station founded in 2008, the festival extends the station's mission: to discover artists and music off the beaten path. The Yes We Can Can association, which runs the radio and the festival, has about forty active members and regularly organizes concerts at 9Cube throughout the year.
Rockin' CHTX is part of the cultural landscape of Châteauroux, complementing other major events like the Festival DARC or Les Castelrouquines. It brings an independent and alternative rock touch that was missing from the local music scene, with a festive and accessible spirit.
