Saint-Paul Soul Funk Festival: The Soul of Soul in Drôme Provençale

Since 2006, the Saint-Paul Soul Funk Festival has been making Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux vibrate to the rhythm of soul, funk, boogie, and jazz-funk. Driven by the Émergence association, this independent festival has built a solid reputation among fans of Black American music and groove.

A Festival of Discoveries and Sharing

The festival's philosophy is based on the discovery of emerging artists rather than mainstream headliners. Each edition mixes international groups, European bands, and French talents, offering festival-goers a rich and eclectic panorama of the contemporary soul and funk scene. The magazine Soul Bag, a French reference in the genre, regularly covers the event.

An Enchanting Provençal Setting

The concerts take place outdoors on the Place du Marché and Place Castellane, in the historic center of Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux. The atmosphere of Provençal summer evenings, between medieval heritage and starry nights, gives the festival a unique charm that attracts a loyal audience from all over France and beyond.

20 Years of Groove in 2025

In 2025, the festival celebrated its 20th anniversary with an exceptional lineup featuring Mamas Gun, Brian Jackson, Sugarman 3, Sampling Is Beautiful, Jeroboam, Another Taste, Parlor Greens, and Ludivine Issambourg. Over the years, the festival has hosted many renowned artists from the international soul and funk scene, contributing to the cultural influence of the Tricastin region.

Art of Living and Summer Nights

The Saint-Paul Soul Funk Festival is also an art of living: local food, Rhône Valley wines, a friendly and danceable atmosphere under the plane trees. The festival perfectly embodies the alliance between music, heritage, and Provençal art of living.
