Festival of digital arts and electronic music
Since 2002, the Scopitone festival has established itself as one of the major events in France and Europe dedicated to electronic cultures and digital arts. Organized by Stereolux, a contemporary music venue and digital creation hub located on the Île de Nantes, Scopitone takes its name from a hybrid jukebox of the 1960s that broadcast music videos in cafes – a symbol of the fusion of music and image that forms the festival's identity.
Each year, Scopitone offers a rich and bold program structured around several axes:
Scopitone unfolds in the Quartier de la Création on the Île de Nantes, centered around Stereolux and Les Nefs, but also extends to other emblematic city locations: Le Lieu Unique, Trempo, Manoir de Procé, Château des ducs de Bretagne, and numerous Nantes bars and cultural spaces. This multi-venue approach makes Scopitone a truly urban festival, transforming the city into a playground for artistic and technological experimentation.
True to its pioneering spirit, Scopitone highlights artistic emergence and diversity of aesthetics. The festival features both established artists and emerging talents, with a particular focus on gender balance, international representation, and accessibility. The majority of artistic offerings – exhibitions, installations, daytime concerts – are free to access.
The Scopitone festival returns for its 24th edition from September 16 to 20, 2026. For five days, Nantes will vibrate to the rhythm of electronic cultures and digital arts, with a bold program championing artistic emergence and diversity.
As every year, Scopitone will offer:
