The festival dedicated to the links between music and image in Rochefort
Created in 2021 on the initiative of Julie Gayet (with Delphine Paul and Éric Debègue), the Sœurs Jumelles Festival explores the creative links between music and image in all their forms. The event brings together musicians (symphonic, electronic, urban, jazz, contemporary) and image professionals (cinema, animation, documentary, music video, advertising, series, video games, virtual reality) in Rochefort for meetings, concerts, screenings, and original creations.
The festival primarily takes place at the Corderie Royale in Rochefort, a 17th-century historical monument at the heart of the Maritime Arsenal, which hosts the Grande Scène Icelandic. The program also extends to other emblematic venues in the city: the Église Saint-Louis (classical and jazz concerts), the Théâtre de la Coupe d'Or (artistic meetings, shows), the Apollo 8 cinema and the Cinémobile (screenings), as well as Place Colbert (free concerts and entertainment).
Sœurs Jumelles offers a unique format in France: artistic conversations between composers, directors, performers, and professionals from cultural industries. Concerts, screenings, meetings, and creations specially designed for the festival interact, accompanied by thematic echoes linking documentaries and concerts. The young audience program and the free-access events at Place Colbert complete an offer for all audiences.
In 2025, the festival gathered over 22,000 festival-goers and 1,000 accredited professionals. The 6th edition, from June 23 to 28, 2026, continues the adventure with an eclectic program combining French music headliners (Vanessa Paradis, Benjamin Biolay, Pomme, Charlotte Cardin), symphonic formats (Camille with the Orchestre national Bordeaux Aquitaine), and emerging talents.
