Since 2022, La Terrasse du Jurançon has established itself as a must-attend event for wine and conviviality lovers in Pau. Born from the desire of the collective of Independent Jurançon Winegrowers to meet the people of Pau and visitors, this festive event celebrates one of the most beautiful vineyards in the Pyrenean foothills each spring.

An Exceptional Vineyard

The Jurançon appellation, nestled in the hills south of Pau, produces world-renowned white wines. According to legend, the lips of the future King Henry IV were rubbed with Jurançon at his birth, thus sealing the unbreakable bond between this wine and the history of Béarn. Independent winegrowers perpetuate this tradition by passionately cultivating indigenous grape varieties - gros manseng, petit manseng, courbu - on steep, sun-drenched terroirs.

A Festive Day Overlooking the Pyrenees

The setting is exceptional: the Square Aragon, located on the legendary Boulevard des Pyrénées in Pau, offers a spectacular panorama of the Pyrenean mountain range. From late morning until nightfall, about thirty independent winegrowers offer commented tastings of their vintages, whether it's dry Jurançon with notes of citrus and white flowers or sweet Jurançon with aromas of pineapple, mango, and honey.

Music and Gastronomy

Musical entertainment is provided by DJs and musicians who perform throughout the day on the Square Aragon. Charcuterie and cheese boards accompany the tastings, while food stalls offer Béarnais specialties. Dematerialized payment facilitates transactions and avoids queues.

Growing Popular Success

From its first edition in 2022, La Terrasse du Jurançon attracted over 6,000 visitors, confirming the public's enthusiasm for this festive and accessible format. Each year, the event gains notoriety and brings together more curious individuals, informed amateurs, and families to discover the Jurançon terroir.
