A trail on the hills of South Touraine

Organized by the Sainte-Maure Athlétisme Club (SMAC), the Trail des Coteaux de Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine has established itself as a must-attend event on the trail running calendar in Indre-et-Loire. Every year in April, runners traverse the hills of Draché, Sepmes, and Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, through a hilly landscape of vineyards, woods, and rural paths where 90% of the course takes place on natural trails and paths.

Three distances for all levels

The trail offers three race formats adapted to all runner profiles:

  • The 21 km (250 m D+): starts at 9:00 AM, the main event that takes trail runners up the hills with significant elevation gain and technical passages through woods and vineyards.
  • The 11 km (150 m D+): starts at 9:15 AM, an intermediate course ideal for regular runners wishing to discover trail running.
  • The 6.6 km (100 m D+): starts at 9:30 AM, a nature race accessible to beginners and fast walkers.

Youth races for the little ones

The Trail des Coteaux places great importance on the young audience with races adapted for children and teenagers:

  • 2.5 km race: for teenagers and young runners.
  • 1.5 km race: for children aged 8 and up.
  • 500 m race: for the youngest, a fun introduction to running.

A friendly event at Parc Robert Guignard

All starts and finishes are at Parc Robert Guignard, a green and sports space in Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine that hosts the trail village. Participants and their companions will find a refreshment area, entertainment, and a friendly, family atmosphere. SMAC, the event organizer, mobilizes numerous volunteers to ensure course marking, safety, and the best possible welcome for runners.
