Trail des Lacs: running along the Jura lakes

Organized by the Club Omnisports Clairvalien (COC), the Trail des Lacs is a friendly sporting event that takes place every spring in Clairvaux-les-Lacs, in the heart of the Jura Lake District. This event offers trail running and hiking courses through one of the most preserved natural areas of the department, between turquoise lakes, deciduous forests, and panoramas of the Jura plateaus.

Courses for everyone

The Trail des Lacs offers several distances to suit all participant profiles:

• 28 km Trail: the longest course, crossing the most varied landscapes of the Lake District
• 18 km Trail: an intermediate format offering a beautiful overview of the lakeside trails
• 12 km Trail: an accessible course, ideal for moderate-level runners
• 8 km Course: a discovery format open to walkers and beginners

The Lake District as a backdrop

The Trail des Lacs courses wind through the Lake District, an exceptional natural area that is one of the jewels of the Jura. The Grand Lac and Petit Lac of Clairvaux, the lake of Bonlieu, the Hérisson waterfalls nearby, the forests, and the pastures create a sumptuous natural setting, particularly beautiful in spring when the vegetation comes back to life and the lakes sparkle in the sun.

A friendly and community event

The Trail des Lacs is organized by the Club Omnisports Clairvalien, a historic sports club in Clairvaux-les-Lacs. The event relies on the commitment of passionate volunteers who mark the courses, ensure safety, and welcome participants in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. The start is given from the village hall of Clairvaux-les-Lacs.

Trail running and hiking: two ways to experience the event

One of the unique features of the Trail des Lacs is that it offers both timed races for competitors and hiking courses (not timed) for those who simply want to enjoy the scenery at their own pace. This dual offering reflects the spirit of the organizing club: to make outdoor sports accessible to everyone, regardless of their level or ambitions.
