Nature race in the heart of Suisse normande
The Trail du Lac de Rabodanges is a sporting event organized every year in March in Putanges-le-Lac, in the Orne department, by the association Activ'Orne. The race offers three events adapted to all levels: the Val d'Enfer (26 km, 1300 m D+), the Val Dingue (12 km, 600 m D+) and the Facilac (8 km, 200 m D+), a non-timed hike-trail with an optional return by cruise boat on the lake. The routes run along the artificial lake of Rabodanges before heading into the hilly forests of Suisse normande.
The Trail du Lac de Rabodanges has established itself as a major sporting event on the trail running calendar in Normandy. Organized by the association Activ'Orne, this event offers technical and varied routes that take advantage of the exceptional terrain of Suisse normande and the spectacular surroundings of the lake of Rabodanges.
The Trail du Lac offers three races adapted to all levels of practice:
The first part of the routes runs along the shores of the artificial lake of Rabodanges, offering runners breathtaking views of this 100-hectare body of water nestled in the Orne valley. The trails then head into thick forests with rugged terrain, taking hollow paths, rocky passages, and demanding climbs that make this trail so exciting.
The Facilac stands out from traditional races with its innovative format: the route is linear (not a loop), and participants can choose to return to the starting point by cruise boat on the lake. This unique option transforms the end of the race into a relaxing and contemplative experience, appreciated by participants and their companions.
The Trail du Lac is also distinguished by its friendly and family-oriented atmosphere. The trail village, located by the lake, welcomes runners and supporters with a catering area, partner stands, and a festive awards ceremony. The Activ'Orne association, driven by passionate volunteers, ensures a high-quality organization in a spirit of sharing and good humor.

Registration is open online on specialized platforms (Klikego, FollowMySport) and on the Activ'Orne association's website. Places are limited for each distance, so early registration is recommended. A medical certificate of non-contraindication to competitive running, dated less than a year ago, or a valid FFA license is required for the Val d'Enfer and Val Dingue. The Facilac (non-timed hike-trail) is accessible without a medical certificate.

Refreshment stations are set up regularly on all routes, offering water, isotonic drinks, dried fruit, energy bars, and savory snacks. The number and spacing of refreshment stations vary depending on the distance.
For the Val d'Enfer (26 km): cup or water bottle (no disposable cups at refreshment stations), charged mobile phone, survival blanket, waterproof clothing. Equipment checks may be carried out at the start or on the routes. Consult the complete regulations on the organizer's website for the exhaustive list of required equipment.
The trail village by the lake offers: hot and cold catering, a bar, a recovery area, changing rooms, luggage storage, and partner stands. The friendly atmosphere and the warm welcome from the volunteers contribute to the event's reputation. Companions are welcome.
The Facilac is a non-timed 8 km linear course. The originality of this event is the option to return to the starting point by cruise boat on the lake of Rabodanges, offering a unique experience combining trail running and lake discovery. The boat return is included in the registration fee.
