The trail in the heart of Suisse normande
The Trail du Lac de Rabodanges has established itself as a major sporting event on the trail running calendar in Normandy. Organized by the association Activ'Orne, this event offers technical and varied routes that take advantage of the exceptional terrain of Suisse normande and the spectacular surroundings of the lake of Rabodanges.
Three events for all profiles
The Trail du Lac offers three races adapted to all levels of practice:
- Val d'Enfer (26 km, 1300 m D+) : the main event, a demanding and technical course through the deep forests and steep valleys of Suisse normande. Reserved for experienced trail runners.
- Val Dingue (12 km, 600 m D+) : an intermediate format offering a great sporting challenge with technical passages in the undergrowth and panoramas of the lake.
- Facilac (8 km, 200 m D+) : a non-timed hike-trail, accessible to all, with a linear route starting from the Putanges jetty. Participants have the option to return to the starting point by cruise boat on the lake, a highly appreciated original feature.
Routes between lake and forest
The first part of the routes runs along the shores of the artificial lake of Rabodanges, offering runners breathtaking views of this 100-hectare body of water nestled in the Orne valley. The trails then head into thick forests with rugged terrain, taking hollow paths, rocky passages, and demanding climbs that make this trail so exciting.
The originality of the boat return
The Facilac stands out from traditional races with its innovative format: the route is linear (not a loop), and participants can choose to return to the starting point by cruise boat on the lake. This unique option transforms the end of the race into a relaxing and contemplative experience, appreciated by participants and their companions.
A friendly event
The Trail du Lac is also distinguished by its friendly and family-oriented atmosphere. The trail village, located by the lake, welcomes runners and supporters with a catering area, partner stands, and a festive awards ceremony. The Activ'Orne association, driven by passionate volunteers, ensures a high-quality organization in a spirit of sharing and good humor.
