The major trail running event in the Jura Mountains — 11 races from 5 to 110 km
La Transju'Trails is the major trail running event in the Jura Mountains, organized every year in June by the La Transju' association (the summer version of the legendary Transjurassienne, a Nordic ski race). The event mainly takes place in Les Rousses and Lamoura (Haut-Jura, 39), with starts and finishes distributed between Les Rousses, Morbier, Les Tuffes, and Prémanon depending on the format.
The weekend offers 11 events covering all runner profiles: a 110 km ultra, trails of 82 km (with relay option), 65 km, 42 km, 25 km, 15 km, 10 km, and 5 km, two hiking trails of 5 and 15 km, as well as children's races. A Transju' Vertical event (a pure uphill race) is also organized prior to the main weekend.
More than 6,500 participants are expected in 2026, making Transju'Trails one of the largest trail gatherings in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. The event attracts runners from all over France, Switzerland, and Europe, drawn by the quality of the Franco-Swiss routes and the preserved landscapes of the Jura massif (Lakes of Les Rousses, Risoux forest, La Dôle, Mont Noir, viaducts of the Hirondelles line).
The summer version of the legendary Transjurassienne (a long-distance Nordic ski race), La Transju'Trails is the benchmark trail running event in the Jura Mountains. Organized annually in early June by the La Transju' association (based in Hauts-de-Bienne, 39), the event brings together over 6,500 runners for a full weekend of races, hikes, and activities between Les Rousses, Lamoura, Morbier, Prémanon, and Les Tuffes.
The 2026 format offers an exceptionally comprehensive range of events, from the 5 km discovery course to the 110 km ultra-trail:
A complementary Transju' Vertical event (a pure uphill race, 2.35 km) is organized on Friday, May 29, 2026, prior to the main weekend.
The routes crisscross the Haut-Jura and extend into the canton of Vaud on the Swiss side. Runners pass through exceptional landscapes: Lakes of Les Rousses, Bellefontaine, and Les Mortes, Risoux forest, summit of La Dôle (second highest peak in the region), ascent of Mont Noir with panoramic views of Lake Geneva and the Mont-Blanc range on clear days, viaducts of the Hirondelles line, Creux du Croue, Roche Champion. The trails alternate technical singletracks, forest sections, and high-altitude passages — including a monkey bridge at Trou Bleu on the 42 km course.
Beyond the races, La Transju'Trails is a truly festive gathering that enlivens the Jura Mountains region for an entire weekend. The Trail Show in Les Rousses (Halle de l'Omnibus) hosts bib collection, partner stands (equipment manufacturers, trail brands, institutional partners), local food, and entertainment. The atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, in the mountain spirit of the Haut-Jura.
With 6,500 participants expected in 2026 (compared to 5,000 in 2025) and the expansion of the range to 11 events (including the new 110 km, 82 km, and 65 km formats), La Transju'Trails confirms its status as a benchmark trail running event in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The event is organized by the La Transju' association, which also organizes the Transjurassienne Nordic ski race in February and several cycling races in the Jura massif.
The Transju'Trails 2026 (19th edition) takes place on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026 in the Montagnes du Jura.
