The great tribal ball of Vitry-sur-Seine
Founded in 2019 by Kontshaprod, Met'Assos, and Le Kilowatt, Tri-Bal Fest is a tribal party like no other held in Vitry-sur-Seine. From 4 PM to 5 AM, families, eclectic electronic music lovers, and night owls gather for a sonic journey between psytrance, world music, and tribal atmospheres, with creative workshops and catering areas.
Tri-Bal Fest was born in July 2019 from a meeting between three creative entities from Vitry: Kontshaprod, the association Met'Assos, and Le Kilowatt. The idea was simple yet ambitious: to create a "grand bal tribal" rooted in popular festive tradition while embracing the most adventurous sounds of global electronic music, from psytrance to Afro-Latin rhythms and tribal beats.
What sets Tri-Bal Fest apart is its ambition to welcome all audiences without exception. The programming is structured to satisfy families with children in the afternoon (with painting workshops, snacks, and musical introductions) as well as the most enduring dancers in the evening and until dawn. The festival runs from 4 PM to 5 AM, offering a complete experience over a dozen hours, with a progressive build-up of intensity throughout the sets.
The first edition, on July 13, 2019, honored the undisputed masters of electronic tribal music: Hilight Tribe, a duo that has been blending psytrance, Indian percussion, shamanic vocals, and hypnotic groove for twenty years. Alongside Hilight Tribe, Moko and Los Tres Puntos completed a lineup perfectly representative of the Tri-Bal spirit. The enthusiastic reception from the Vitry audience confirmed the relevance of this new festive format.
Located at Le Kilowatt, the former EDF power station in Ardoines, Vitry-sur-Seine, the festival benefits from a spectacular industrial setting that organizers transform into a temple of tribal dance. The large halls of the station, its open roofs, and its mysterious nooks are ideally suited for shamanic scenographies, light installations, and tribal decorations that adorn the festival with each edition.
Beyond music, Tri-Bal Fest aims to be a community event in the noblest sense of the term. Participatory workshops (painting, percussion, plastic arts), catering areas with global flavors, and an inclusive and benevolent atmosphere make it a festival that embodies the values of living together dear to Vitry-sur-Seine. Each edition strengthens the bonds between local associations, artists, and the public from all over the Île-de-France region.
