30 years, that's worth celebrating!

A theme: heritage and transmission
Émilie Peluchon, director of La Maison Danse, places this edition under the sign of heritage: « How to seize a heritage? Grow with it? What to keep, what to choose to continue? » The program brings together foundational pieces of contemporary repertoire (May B by Maguy Marin, Vaslav by Olivier Normand) and emerging creations (Solal Mariotte, Julie Vuoso, Johana Malédon, Jonas Chéreau associated to come).
Beyond the shows
Collective experiences to share: workshops, mixed games (aperitif, dance and wines from the Duchy with Laurent Pichaud), tastings, participatory creations, photo exhibitions (CATTP Le Transfo), film screenings on adolescence, a treasure hunt in the city, and every evening dancefloor parties leading up to the choreographed ball SAMEDI FUTUR by Christophe Haleb on Saturday evening.
1 KM DE DANSE — festive and free closing event
On Sunday, June 7 afternoon, the festival concludes with the 1 KM DE DANSE, a dance celebration open to all (amateurs and professionals) that takes over the street, followed by a parade and a closing ball. Free admission.

A major contemporary dance event in Occitanie
Since 1996, the La Maison Danse festival has brought together in Uzès, every June, the most vibrant European choreographic creations. Born under the name Festival de la nouvelle danse, it is now supported by La Maison Danse · Uzès Gard Occitanie CDCN, one of the National Choreographic Development Centres (CDCN) accredited by the Ministry of Culture, directed since November 2022 by Émilie Peluchon. In thirty years, the event has programmed more than 500 shows by 278 French and international choreographers.
A program balancing historical figures and young creation
The festival fosters dialogue between repertoire pieces and contemporary creations. Foundational pieces of contemporary dance (May B by Maguy Marin, Vaslav by Olivier Normand) are presented alongside residency outputs from emerging choreographers and international previews. Each edition offers about twenty shows, complemented by workshops, screenings, exhibitions, participatory creations, and festive moments (choreographed aperitif, Saturday night ball, dancefloor evenings).
Heritage sites invested by dance
The festival's strength lies in investing Uzès' urban and natural heritage: the Jardin de l'Évêché, the parc du Duché, the chapelle de la médiathèque, the Promenade des Marronniers, l'Ombrière, and several squares in the ducal city. Every closing Sunday, the 1 KM DE DANSE event gathers residents, amateurs, and professionals in the street for a big, free, popular dance celebration.
The 2026 edition: 30 years, June 3 to 7
The anniversary edition features 22 choreographers and 23 shows in the city from June 3 to 7, 2026. On the program: May B by Maguy Marin as the opening, creations by Aina Alegre, Marion Carriau, Soa Ratsifandrihana, Jonas Chéreau, Laurent Pichaud, Christophe Haleb, David Wampach, Fabrice Ramalingom, and a giant choreographed ball on Saturday evening by Christophe Haleb.
