About Villeneuve en Scène
Villeneuve en Scène is the festival of itinerant theatrical writings, held every summer in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, in the Gard (Occitanie), in parallel with the Festival d'Avignon. A true garden of the Festival d'Avignon, it brings together on the Plaine de l'Abbaye and in the historic center shows combining theater, circus, music, dance and street arts, performed under big tops and in the open air. In 2026, the festival celebrates its 30th edition.

Villeneuve en Scène is an unmissable event of the cultural summer in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon (Gard, Occitanie). Nicknamed the « garden of the Festival d'Avignon », it highlights itinerant theatrical writings: companies that choose to leave the walls of theaters to meet the public, under big tops, in caravans or in the open air.
A festival rooted in its territory
The heart of the festival beats on the Plaine de l'Abbaye, at the foot of Fort Saint-André, complemented by shows scattered throughout the historic center of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. The program weaves together theater, circus, music, dance and hybrid forms, in a friendly and popular spirit.
A demanding and accessible program
Each edition brings together established companies and original creations (Johann Le Guillerm, Akoreacro, Bêtes de foire, and numerous circus and street theater companies), with adapted prices and provisions for families and residents of Grand Avignon. In 2026, Villeneuve en Scène celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Villeneuve en Scène 2026 — 30th Edition
For its 30th anniversary, Villeneuve en Scène will be held from July 8 to 21, 2026 in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, in the Gard. The festival takes over the Plaine de l'Abbaye and several emblematic venues in the city with a selection of shows mixing circus, theater, and hybrid forms, in the spirit of itinerant theatrical writings.
