About Vis-à-vis Normandie Festival
The Vis-à-vis Festival presents the public with artistic creations born within Normandy's correctional facilities. Featuring theater, dance, music, video, and photography, these projects bring together inmates, artists, and technicians who have collaborated over several months. The event is hosted by the Comédie de Caen, Normandy's national drama center, in partnership with the Théâtre Paris-Villette and six regional prisons and detention centers. It brings to Normandy a national program already established in Paris, where it is now in its fifth edition.
Vis-à-vis Normandie Festival — edition 2026
For this inaugural Normandy edition, the Comédie de Caen is hosting three evenings of performances created within six regional prisons and detention centers, in partnership with the Théâtre Paris-Villette. Highlights include "Méduse," a reimagining of the ancient myth developed by Fanny Catel and Raoul Fernandez with the Caen prison. A free talk with actors Redwane Rajel and Valérie Dassonville, moderated by journalist Sébastien Thème, will take place on December 3rd ahead of the festival.
