Vitiloire is the unmissable event for lovers of Loire wines and gastronomy. Created in 2003 by the City of Tours, this open-air fair has become in just a few editions one of the major wine tourism events in the Val de Loire, attracting over 40,000 visitors each year to Boulevard Heurteloup, between Place de la Gare and the Préfecture garden.
Vitiloire offers a unique showcase of the richness and diversity of Val de Loire wines. Each edition brings together around 160 exhibitors, including 140 winemakers from across the valley to represent the 79 appellations of the Loire region: Muscadet, Anjou, Saumur, Chinon, Vouvray, Touraine, Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, and many others. Visitors can taste and buy directly from producers, discovering renowned estates as well as emerging talents.
Beyond wine, Vitiloire celebrates gastronomy with culinary demonstrations offered by about ten chefs, including Michelin-starred chefs like Christopher Coutanceau, Kevin Gardien, and Stéphane Carrade. A gourmet village offers local products and culinary creations to enjoy on-site.
The program includes wine masterclasses led by the Fédération des Associations Viticoles and Sommellerie de France, presenting different grape varieties and tasting techniques. The Grand Tasting Competition invites amateurs to identify grape varieties, regions, appellations, and vintages of white, red, and sparkling wines blind.
Entry to Vitiloire is free. The fair takes place in a festive and friendly atmosphere, with musical entertainment and a remarkable urban setting in the heart of Tours. The event is supported by the City of Tours and its institutional and wine partners, contributing to the influence of the Touraine capital and its wine heritage.
