The urban and itinerant festival of Roubaix
We Loft Music is an urban and itinerant music festival created in 2019 by La Cave aux Poètes in Roubaix. Every year in January-February, this festival offers an eclectic musical program in emblematic and atypical venues in the city: La Cave aux Poètes, la Condition Publique, the Conservatoire de Roubaix, the ENPJJ, the Maison Verte, or Plaine Image. From techno to electro-pop, through jazz and afrobeat, We Loft Music mixes musical discoveries and heritage exploration in an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere.
Created in 2019 by La Cave aux Poètes, an emblematic contemporary music venue in Roubaix, We Loft Music is a festival that offers a unique musical experience. By taking over atypical and heritage venues in the city, the festival offers much more than just a series of concerts: it is a true immersion into the identity of Roubaix, between music and urban exploration.
The specificity of We Loft Music lies in its itinerant nature. Each evening takes place in a different location, chosen for its unique character and its connection to Roubaix's history.
The birthplace of the festival, La Cave aux Poètes is a contemporary music venue located in a former beer cellar. Its warm acoustics and intimate atmosphere make it the natural anchor point of the festival, hosting memorable concerts and closing parties.
A former wool conditioning warehouse converted into a cultural space, la Condition Publique offers spectacular industrial spaces for large-scale concerts. The contrast between contemporary music and this industrial heritage creates unique atmospheres.
The Conservatoire de Roubaix, the ENPJJ (National School of Judicial Protection of Youth), the Maison Verte, and Plaine Image complete the constellation of venues used by the festival. Each site brings its own atmosphere and allows the public to discover often little-known spaces.
We Loft Music stands out for its demanding and varied musical program that crosses musical genres without being limited to a single style.
Techno, electro, and electro-pop play an important role in the programming. The festival has hosted internationally renowned artists such as Jeff Mills, a legend of the Detroit techno scene, for exclusive performances mixing afrobeat, jazz, and techno. These limited-capacity evenings create moments of rare intensity.
Beyond electronic music, We Loft Music explores jazz, afrobeat, and world music. The festival showcases discoveries and emerging artists, offering a platform for tomorrow's talents alongside established artists.
Some evenings feature innovative audiovisual performances where music, video, and sound effects merge in immersive shows. These hybrid artistic proposals reflect the spirit of innovation and curiosity that drives the festival.
We Loft Music aims to be a festival rooted in its territory. For the 2026 edition, the public is invited to participate in the programming, a participatory approach that strengthens the link between the festival and the inhabitants of Roubaix.
