About Oysters & White Wine

The Eymet White Wine and Oyster Festival is a major gastronomic event held every August 15th on Place Gambetta, in the heart of the bastide town of Eymet. Created in 1989 by the Comice Agricole, this event pairs AOC white wines from Bergerac with oysters and seafood from the Arcachon Basin and Marennes-Oléron. Manouche jazz concerts, DJ sets, and a festive atmosphere accompany this day of tasting, which brings together tourists and locals around the flavors of the region each year.

The marriage of wine and sea

Since 1989, August 15th has been synonymous with oysters and white wine in Eymet. The White Wine and Oyster Festival, organized by the Comice Agricole, was born from the idea of Bergerac winegrowers to invite oyster farmers from the Arcachon Basin and Marennes-Oléron to offer a perfect pairing between the fruits of the vine and those of the sea.

AOC Wines and seafood

On Place Gambetta, in the heart of the bastide, visitors can taste AOC Bergerac white wines at the wine bar, accompanied by oysters, seafood, and local products. A true open-air gastronomic feast that is the pride of the Périgord Pourpre.

Music and festive atmosphere

Manouche jazz concerts liven up the lunch hour from noon to 3 p.m., while DJ sets take over in the evening until midnight. The friendly and festive atmosphere of this August 15th brings together thousands of visitors, tourists, and locals alike each year.
