Ten days of theatre in Arc-lès-Gray
Since 2011, the Festival en Arc has taken over the Halle Perrey in Arc-lès-Gray, in Haute-Saône, for ten days of live performance. A team of 45 dedicated volunteers runs the event, every September, inside the same hall.
The theatre festival has grown, edition after edition, into one of the largest in Burgundy-Franche-Comté and the Grand Est.
Theatre, comedy and music follow one another on the Halle Perrey stage. Shows for young audiences find their place too, running from September 18 through the 27th.
In 2024, the edition drew more than 50,000 spectators. Twenty thousand schoolchildren joined them that same year.
The weekend of September 26-27 closes the tenth and final day of this 2026 edition, inside the same hall that saw it open nine days earlier.
The rest of the weekend
In Beaune, Jazz O'Verre Beaune pairs jazz with Burgundy wines at the Ateliers du Cinéma, a venue founded by Claude Lelouch. The weekend was born in 2017. It carries on a twenty-year jazz tradition led in Beaune by Jean-Jacques Hegner. In Dijon, Quetigny and Barbirey-sur-Ouche, Entre Cour et Jardins brings dance and live performance into remarkable natural settings, historic architecture and alternative venues, organised by Le Dancing, CDCN Dijon Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. It has toured for more than twenty years.
In Dole, the Week-end Gourmand du Chat Perché sets up its food villages across the Renaissance old town. The Pass Dégustation leads visitors from cloister to cloister, Friday through Sunday. Producers, food artisans, chefs and winemakers from across Burgundy-Franche-Comté fill the stalls. In Haute-Saône, the Foire de Lure, a major economic, cultural and festive event for the department, gathers close to 300 exhibitors from across France around a guest country of honour, every two years since 1987. Four days of craft, food, innovation, shows and activities unfold there.
In Château-Chinon, in the Nièvre, Festi Rencontres Morvan Irlande Écosse brings together musicians from the Morvan, Ireland and Scotland for four days of concerts and marquee dances. Free concerts are held for schoolchildren. A themed dinner, prepared by the training restaurant of the local vocational school, rounds out the programme of an association born in 2017. In the Yonne, the Saint-Florentin patronal fête opens Sunday at 7:30am and closes at 6pm, with a funfair, an aperitif concert and food stalls on the Place de la République.
