The international pole vault meeting of Clermont-Ferrand
It all began in 2016 when two pole vault legends, Sergey Bubka and Renaud Lavillenie, decided to create a new international meeting in Clermont-Ferrand. This project was born in response to the disappearance of the annual Pole Vault Stars meeting in Donetsk, made impossible by the war in Donbas. Lavillenie, a local and former world indoor record holder (6.16m in 2014), naturally chose his adopted city to establish this new global pole vault event.
From its very first edition on February 25, 2016, the meeting stood out for the quality of its athletes. Renaud Lavillenie won this inaugural edition with a jump of 6.02m, the second-best world indoor performance that year. Greece's Konstantinos Filippidis set a national record of 5.84m, while Venezuela's Robeilys Peinado broke her country's record at 4.53m.
Since then, All Star Perche has continued to grow, becoming part of the World Athletics Indoor Tour and attracting the biggest names in the sport worldwide. The meeting has become a must-attend event on the international circuit at the start of the indoor season.
The Maison des Sports in Clermont-Ferrand has become the venue for all the great achievements. Sweden's Armand “Mondo” Duplantis has set several world records here:
