Modern and Contemporary Art Fair at the Grand Palais
Founded in 1999 by France Conventions, Art Paris is the major spring event for modern and contemporary art in France. Every year in April, the Grand Palais hosts under its monumental glass roof around 165 French and international galleries from 25 countries, presenting over 900 artists. True to its DNA as a fair committed to the French scene — 60% of participating galleries are French — Art Paris offers an ambitious program structured around curated thematic trails, a sector dedicated to emerging galleries, and solo shows. With the support of prestigious prizes like the BNP Paribas Private Bank Prize and the Her Art Prize, Art Paris asserts itself as a major event on the Parisian art calendar, attracting collectors, professionals, and art lovers from around the world.
Art Paris was born in 1999, founded by France Conventions, a French family SME driven by the desire to promote the players in the French art market. From its origins, the fair has distinguished itself by a strong commitment to the French scene: about 60% of the participating galleries are French, making Art Paris a faithful mirror of the vitality of artistic creation in France.
By setting up at the Grand Palais, Art Paris benefits from an exceptional heritage setting. The monumental glass roof, the largest in Europe, offers natural light that enhances the works and gives the visit a dimension that is both grandiose and intimate. Every year in April, the fair transforms the nave of the Grand Palais into a vast artistic pathway accessible to all audiences.
One of Art Paris's strengths is its offer of an ambitious curatorial program, which goes beyond a simple display of gallery stands. Each edition is structured around two or three thematic trails entrusted to guest curators, offering original keys to understanding the fair.
