Art Paris: The Spring of Art at the Grand Palais

Art Paris was born in 1999, founded by France Conventions, a French family SME driven by the desire to promote the players in the French art market. From its origins, the fair has distinguished itself by a strong commitment to the French scene: about 60% of the participating galleries are French, making Art Paris a faithful mirror of the vitality of artistic creation in France.

By setting up at the Grand Palais, Art Paris benefits from an exceptional heritage setting. The monumental glass roof, the largest in Europe, offers natural light that enhances the works and gives the visit a dimension that is both grandiose and intimate. Every year in April, the fair transforms the nave of the Grand Palais into a vast artistic pathway accessible to all audiences.

A Program Structured Around Thematic Trails

One of Art Paris's strengths is its offer of an ambitious curatorial program, which goes beyond a simple display of gallery stands. Each edition is structured around two or three thematic trails entrusted to guest curators, offering original keys to understanding the fair.

2026 Edition: Babel and Repair

The 28th edition of Art Paris, held from April 9 to 12, 2026, is organized around two major themes:

  • Babel — Art and Language in France: curated by Loïc Le Gall, this trail brings together 22 artists and explores language as a system of signs in contemporary French art
  • Repair: designed by Alexia Fabre, this trail brings together about twenty international artists around repair as a supported practice of care, resistance, and continuity

Sectors for All Audiences

Art Paris structures its offering around several complementary sectors:

  • Promises: 27 emerging galleries (44% international), offering a showcase for the young art scene
  • Solo Show: 24 monographic exhibitions for an in-depth immersion into an artist's world
  • French Design Art Edition: a dozen exhibitors at the crossroads of contemporary design and decorative arts, on the north balconies of the Grand Palais

Prestigious Prizes to Support Creation

Art Paris actively supports artistic creation through several prizes:

  • BNP Paribas Private Bank Prize: endowed with €40,000, it rewards an artist presented by a gallery at the fair
  • Her Art Prize: endowed with €30,000, this prize created in partnership with Marie Claire and Maison Boucheron recognizes a female artist, affirming Art Paris's commitment to parity in the art world

A Parisian and International Footprint

With approximately 165 galleries from 25 countries and over 900 artists presented, Art Paris offers a panorama that is both rooted in the French scene and open to international creation. The fair attracts a diverse audience of collectors, enthusiasts, professionals, and the curious each year, contributing to the cultural dynamism of Parisian spring.
