A human-sized metal festival by the Loire
Created in 2023 by the association Barbeuk Metal Asso, Barbeuk Metal Fest has quickly established itself as a must-attend event for heavy music lovers in Western France. Located in Champtoceaux, in the municipality of Orée-d'Anjou in Maine-et-Loire, the festival benefits from an exceptional setting by the Loire, just thirty minutes from Nantes.
An international lineup from hard rock to extreme metal
Each year, Barbeuk Metal Fest offers an eclectic program spread over two thematic days. Friday is generally dedicated to hard rock and heavy metal, while Saturday showcases extreme metal. Since its creation, the festival has hosted prestigious international bands such as Tygers of Pan Tang (England), Onslaught (England), Xentrix (England), Angelus Apatrida (Spain), and Hitten (Spain), alongside many emerging French bands.
A friendly spirit and artisanal catering
What sets Barbeuk Metal Fest apart from other metal festivals is its commitment to friendliness and the quality of its catering. All food offered on-site is 100% homemade and local, and breakfast is included in the festival pass price. Camping and parking are available for free throughout the event, fostering a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
A growing event
Despite its youth, Barbeuk Metal Fest has managed to build a loyal following thanks to its sharp programming and intimate format. The deliberately limited capacity allows festival-goers to have an immersive experience, up close with the artists. The Barbeuk Metal Asso association continues its work to grow this festival while preserving the family spirit and authenticity that make it charming.
Barbeuk Metal — edition 2026
4th edition of the Barbeuk Metal Fest on August 21 and 22, 2026 in Orée-d'Anjou (Champtoceaux, Maine-et-Loire), 30 minutes from Nantes. Two evenings of rock and metal on the banks of the Loire, with French and international programming: Friday Hard & Heavy featuring Grave Digger, Saturday Thrash & Death Metal with Suicidal Angels and Mortal Sin.
Barbeuk Metal Fest IV: August 21 and 22, 2026
The Barbeuk Metal Fest returns for its 4th edition on August 21 and 22, 2026 in Orée-d'Anjou (municipality of Champtoceaux, Maine-et-Loire), approximately 30 minutes from Nantes. This human-sized open-air festival offers two thematic evenings of rock and metal, with French and international bands, entertainment, and local food (vegetarian and vegan options available upon request).
Friday, August 21 — Hard & Heavy Party
An evening dedicated to heavy metal, led by the Germans Grave Digger (heavy metal legends, France exclusive 2026). Alongside them: Deathless Legacy (Italy, horror metal), Fury (United Kingdom, heavy metal), Tsar (Nantes, prog metal), Star Rider (Grenoble, heavy metal) and Fenris (Nantes, heavy rock).
Saturday, August 22 — Thrash & Death Metal Party
Second evening focused on thrash and death metal with Suicidal Angels (Greece, thrash metal), Mortal Sin (Australia, thrash metal, France exclusive 2026), Schizophrenia (Belgium, thrash death metal), Heart Attack (Cannes, modern thrash metal) and Cage Fight (United Kingdom / France), alongside other acts announced on the official program.
Camping and Access
A free parking and camping area is available near the site for pass holders, with showers and dedicated zones for trucks, motorcycles, and people with reduced mobility. The campsite opens on Friday at noon and closes on Sunday at 1 PM. The exact location of the site is communicated to pass holders.

Access
Barbeuk Metal Fest takes place in Champtoceaux, 49270 Orée-d'Anjou, in Maine-et-Loire.
- By car: From Nantes (30 min), take the direction of Ancenis then Champtoceaux via the D751. From Angers (1h), follow the direction of Nantes via the N23 then exit at Champtoceaux.
- Parking: Free parking available on the festival site.
Camping
Camping is free and included in the festival pass. Campervans are also accepted.
Catering
100% homemade and local catering on site. Breakfast included in the festival pass.
