About BDCibels
When comic strips meet rock
The BDCibels Festival was born in La Souterraine from the desire to create a unique cultural event combining two passions: comic strips and rock music. For a weekend, the Espace de l'Écluse hosts comic strip authors for signing sessions, exhibitions, and screenings, while the evenings are dedicated to rock concerts with an eclectic program.
Prestigious guests
The festival has managed to attract major names from the ninth art. The second edition in 2006 featured Juanjo Guarnido, creator of Blacksad, as the guest of honor, who created the official poster and even performed in concert with his band Slumberland. Other invited authors include Jean-Pierre Gibrat, Hugues Labiano, and Olivier Ledroit, testifying to the cultural ambition of this event in Creuse.
A festival rooted in the territory
Driven by a team of passionate volunteers, BDCibels contributes to the cultural animation of La Souterraine and Creuse. The festival also offers comic strip workshops for young people and meet-and-greets with authors, making this event a friendly and accessible gathering for all audiences.

The BDCibels Festival returns in April 2026 to the Espace de l'Écluse in La Souterraine. This new edition will feature signing sessions with comic strip authors, exhibitions of original artwork, and evening rock concerts.
