About Beat and Beer
Beat and Beer is an annual festival in Malakoff (Hauts-de-Seine) dedicated to hybrid and emerging music. Founded in 2016 by an association of the same name, the festival reinvents its location and theme every year: from 'Dérives auditives' at the Maison des arts in 2023, to the 10th-anniversary celebration at Parc Léon-Salagnac in 2025, and finally the Jean Jaurès school for 2026's 'Festival(ito): The Big Recess'. Featuring concerts, DJ sets, performances, games, a bar, and homemade food, it is a curious and friendly event just a stone's throw from Paris.

For 2026, Beat and Beer is rebranding as "Festival(ito) 2026: The Mega Recess" and invites you to join on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM at the Jean Jaurès school in Malakoff. It's a giant back-to-school recess for all ages, featuring concerts, games, bingo, snacks, a bar, and food stalls.
2026 Edition: "Festival(ito): The Mega Recess"
Beat and Beer is changing its setting and format for 2026. After celebrating its 10th anniversary at Parc Léon-Salagnac, the association is hosting its 2026 edition at the Jean Jaurès school in Malakoff, titled "Festival(ito) 2026: The Mega Recess." The concept, as announced by the organizers, is a giant back-to-school recess open to both kids and adults, with the school grounds hosting concerts, games, bingo, snacks, a bar, and food.
The event takes place over a single day, running late into the night: Saturday, September 5th, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM. You can reach the venue via Metro line 13, at the Malakoff – Plateau de Vanves station.

As of this update (August 16th, 2026), the organizers have not yet released the names of the performing artists; only the date, location, format, and pricing are currently listed on the official ticketing site. The beatandbeer.fr website is still displaying information from the 2025 edition.
The 2026 edition is organized in partnership with the city of Malakoff and the Hauts-de-Seine department.

Born in 2016 in Malakoff, Hauts-de-Seine, Beat and Beer is run by a group of enthusiasts who describe their festival as a 'protean organism with overflowing vitality.' Its mission is simple: to bring together emerging music and a curious audience in city venues that change every year, all while offering a bar and food that match the high standards of the musical lineup.
A genre-defying lineup
The festival celebrates hybrid and emerging sounds. Concerts, DJ sets, and performances run from mid-afternoon until the middle of the night, showcasing artists from the French and European scenes who deserve more exposure. The 10th-anniversary edition in September 2025 at Parc Léon-Salagnac featured Echt!, Maria Teriaeva, Baby Berserk, World Brain, Tioklu, Kimia, Caos 808, HSRS, Candela 550, Le Frit, Ondorphine, Midva Lofi Ensemble, Symo Reyn, and Tentaculaire, alongside activities like face painting, games, screen printing, and massages.
A festival that reinvents itself every year
Beat and Beer adopts a different theme for each edition: 'Dérives auditives' at the Maison des arts et Centre d'art contemporain de Malakoff in 2023, 'Interstices' in 2024, the 10th anniversary at Parc Léon-Salagnac in 2025, and 'Festival(ito): The Big Recess' in 2026, a massive back-to-school party held at the Jean Jaurès school. The association also hosts other events throughout the year, such as Pelouse Secousses, Nuitsances Sonores, Le carnaval du Beat, and Garde le Beat.
The bar and canteen
The 'Beer' in the name is no accident: every edition features an on-site bar and homemade food, crafted with the same artisanal spirit as the musical programming.

Malakoff, a town in the inner suburbs bordering the 14th arrondissement of Paris, is accessible via Metro line 13. The festival is supported by the city of Malakoff and the Hauts-de-Seine department, with additional support from the Île-de-France region, CNM, Sacem, RIF, and FDVA depending on the year.
