About Belvès Bach Festival

The Belvès Bach Festival is a classical and baroque music festival held every summer in the historic sites of Périgord Noir: the church of Belvès, the abbey of Cadouin, and the abbey of Saint-Avit-Sénieur. Created over 25 years ago, the festival offers a series of concerts around the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, performed on the organ, in baroque ensemble, or in chamber formation. Many concerts are offered free of charge.

Bach in the heart of Périgord Noir

The Belvès Bach Festival is one of the major musical events in Périgord Noir. For over 25 years, it has celebrated the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries in historic locations: the church of Belvès, the abbey of Cadouin, and the abbey of Saint-Avit-Sénieur.

A program between tradition and discovery

The festival offers five exceptional concerts to discover or rediscover Bach's works for organ, as a soloist, or enriched within an orchestra. The program deliberately mixes a free opening concert to introduce the general public to classical music and a series of concerts for a more informed audience.

Renowned artists

The festival hosts prestigious ensembles such as the Ensemble Baroque de Toulouse, brass quintets, and renowned organ soloists, offering high-level performances in the remarkable acoustics of the Romanesque and Gothic buildings of Périgord.

Belvès Bach Festival — edition 2026

The Belvès Bach Festival returns in summer 2026 for a new season of classical and baroque music concerts, from July 28 to August 9. Organized by the Friends of the Belvès Organ association, this itinerant festival takes over several historic sites in the Pays de Belvès, in Périgord Noir, each summer, including the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption church in Belvès and the Cadouin abbey church. The concerts, with free admission, celebrate Johann Sebastian Bach, his family, and his baroque contemporaries.
