The blues takes over Berry
Since 2014, the small village of Ambrault has vibrated every summer to the rhythm of the blues thanks to the BluesBerry Festival. Born from the passion of a handful of volunteers within the BluesBerry association, this festival has carved out its place in the Berry musical landscape by offering quality programming in a simple and authentic setting: the village municipal stadium.
Two days of live music
Every year in July, the festival offers two evenings of concerts starting at 7 PM. The programming features blues in all its forms — acoustic, electric, Chicago blues, Delta blues — but also opens up to folk, soul, and roots music. French and international artists perform on stage, offering festival-goers intense and generous performances.
Quality artists
Over the years, the BluesBerry Festival has hosted renowned artists such as Nico Wayne Toussaint, a key figure in French blues, Johnny Gallagher, Catfish Keith, as well as many emerging talents from the French and European blues scene. The 2024 lineup notably featured Jacob Wild, Didier Marty, Blues Corner, Mayflies, and Julianne Joe.
A human-sized festival
With around 2,500 festival-goers each year, BluesBerry cultivates a spirit of closeness and conviviality that is its strength. No barriers between the audience and the artists, a relaxed and warm atmosphere, spontaneous encounters: it's the antithesis of large, impersonal festivals. The open-air format, in the heart of the Berry countryside, adds to the charm of the event.
Local food and crafts
The festival makes a point of promoting local products. The catering offers dishes made with products from the Berry region, accompanied by a generous bar. An artisan market allows visitors to discover the creations of local artisans. All in a good-natured atmosphere, between concerts, under the Berry sky.
