Variety and pop festival in Bollène
The BO'tiful Festival is the major popular music event in Bollène, a town in northern Vaucluse located at the gateway to the Drôme provençale. Since its early editions, it has established itself as the unmissable summer gathering in the north of the department, capable of bringing together several thousand spectators each year around artists from the French and international variety, pop, R&B, soul, and rock scenes.
The festival is held every summer at La Cigalière, Bollène's versatile performance and concert hall, whose name evokes the song of the cicada, the sonic emblem of Provençal summers. With its outdoor stage and infrastructure adapted for major music events, La Cigalière offers an ideal setting to host this type of popular and family-friendly festival, halfway between the conviviality of an open-air concert and the comfort of an equipped venue.
What makes the BO'tiful Festival strong is its ability to book artists recognized by the general public without ever closing itself off to more surprising proposals or discoveries. Past editions have seen figures of French popular song—like Louis Bertignac, the iconic guitarist of Téléphone, or Vitaa, queen of French R&B—share the stage with more recent artists like Dadju, Jungeli, Ycare, or Anabel, for a vibrant and diverse panorama of contemporary French song.
This diversity is a deliberate choice by the organizers, who want the festival to be a space for discovery as well as a reunion with beloved artists. The multigenerational audience comes as much to see a variety star again as to discover an emerging artist in ideal concert conditions.
Beyond the programming, the BO'tiful Festival cultivates a warm and relaxed Provençal festival atmosphere. Food trucks offering local cuisine and flavors of the Vaucluse are set up around the site, and the catering and bar areas allow spectators to gather before and after the concerts. The Bollène setting, with the surrounding scrublands and vineyards, adds that scent of Provence to the evening that transforms a concert into a true life experience.
Bollène is a town of character, rich in its medieval historical heritage—its old upper town, its cobbled streets, its Saint-Martin church—and rooted in a beautiful Provençal territory. Crossed by the Rhone corridor, at the confluence of Provence and the Drôme provençale, it is easily accessible from Orange (15 km), Avignon (50 km), Montélimar (25 km), and Valréas (20 km), giving it a large and diverse population base.
The town is also known for its Tricastin nuclear power plant, but it is its Provençal identity—the Saturday morning market, the lively cafes, the pétanque, and the southern conviviality—that prevails in the daily lives of its inhabitants. The BO'tiful Festival fits perfectly into this tradition of popular celebration and sharing that characterizes the culture of southern France.
The BO'tiful Festival is organized with the support of the City of Bollène and local cultural actors. Over the years, it has become a structuring element of Bollène's cultural life, eagerly awaited each summer by the inhabitants of northern Vaucluse and passing tourists. Its growing success testifies to the cultural vitality of a region often overlooked but endearing, caught between the giant Chorégies d'Orange and the Avignon festivals.
The 3rd edition of the BO'tiful Festival takes place on August 6 and 7, 2026, on the Esplanade de la Cigalière in Bollène. Two evenings punctuate this edition: an electro Dancefloor on Thursday with Bakermat, Laurent Wolf, and Venga, followed by a hip-hop evening on Friday featuring Bigflo & Oli and Carbonne, for an open-air festive weekend under the Provençal sky.
