The largest national show dedicated to fishing and aquatic leisure
Created in 1989 and organized by Centre France Événements, the Carrefour National de la Pêche et des Loisirs (CNPL) is the largest French show dedicated to fishing and aquatic leisure. For three days in January, the Grande Halle d'Auvergne in Cournon-d'Auvergne hosts around 100 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors from all over France to discover the latest trends, new techniques, and innovations in the world of fishing. Organized around six thematic universes — Discover, Have Fun, Board, Escape, Equip, and Transmit — the CNPL offers fishing simulators, virtual reality experiences, product demonstrations, and the presence of personalities from the fishing world. The 2025 edition marked the last edition in this format.
Since 1989, the Carrefour National de la Pêche et des Loisirs (CNPL) has established itself as the unmissable event for fishing enthusiasts in France. Organized every year in January by Centre France Événements at the Grande Halle d'Auvergne in Cournon-d'Auvergne, near Clermont-Ferrand, this show has successfully retained an enthusiastic audience and brought together the major players in the French fishing industry.
The CNPL is structured around six thematic universes that offer visitors total immersion in the world of fishing:
With around a hundred exhibitors and approximately 15,000 visitors over three days, the CNPL is the largest national show dedicated to fishing. The event attracts passionate anglers from all over France, families looking for discoveries, and industry professionals. Each edition hosts a prestigious patron, such as the wild waters adventurer Cyril Chauquet in 2025.
The CNPL stands out for the quality and originality of its activities: fishing simulators that allow you to experience the fight with a fish in real conditions, virtual reality experiences to discover underwater and lake environments, fly and lure tying demonstrations by experts, and fishing shows commented by champions.
After 35 successful editions, the CNPL has seen its format evolve. The 2025 edition, which welcomed 11,540 visitors, was the last in its traditional format. The event is expected to evolve into a new format dedicated to outdoor leisure and activities, demonstrating the show's ability to adapt to new public expectations.
The CNPL will not be held in January 2026 in its traditional format. After 35 editions, the event is evolving into a new format dedicated to outdoor leisure and activities, with a launch planned for 2027.

Despite stable attendance of over 15,000 visitors in 2024, the show suffered from a decrease in the number of exhibitors and the withdrawal of several major French and international brands, leading organizers to rethink the event's concept.
