Dijon Literary Encounters
Clameur(s) is the annual literary event of the City of Dijon. Organized every June, this free festival takes over the squares, courtyards, and gardens of the historic center to offer author encounters, public readings, literary concerts, book signings, and debates accessible to all.
Since the 2025 edition, Clameur(s) has adopted an expanded new format, with programming running from January to June. Five preparatory literary meetings punctuate the months leading up to the closing weekend, allowing for in-depth exploration of a central theme throughout the semester. The culminating weekend in June brings the public together for author encounters, open-air readings, and festive moments.
Each edition explores a unifying theme. The 2025 edition, under the banner of the word “Ensemble” (Together), questioned the notions of being together, doing together, and living together, with a particular focus on noir fiction. Previous editions have addressed various subjects, from the French language to literary commitment, including the writing of reality.
Clameur(s) takes advantage of Dijon's exceptional architectural heritage to create a unique setting for literature. The courtyards of private mansions, public gardens, and squares in the city center are transformed into open-air literary stages, offering an experience of reading and encounters in a remarkable historic setting.
14th edition of the Clameur(s) literary meetings in Dijon, organised by the Municipal Library and the City of Dijon. Festive closing weekend on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, 2026, on the theme « En Corps » with Georges Vigarello, Floriane Soulas, Blanche Sabbah, Chloé Wary, Antonin Crenn, Grégory Le Floch, Séphora Pondi, Hélène Laurain, Anna Meril and many others. Entirely free festival.
For its 14th edition, the literature festival of the City of Dijon places the body at the heart of its programming. Since January 2026, the Clameur(s) literary meetings have been exploring this theme in all its dimensions — physiological, sensitive, social, cultural, and political — through novels, comic books, children's albums, performances, and workshops, leading up to the closing weekend on June 12 and 13, 2026.
The main weekend unfolds over two days, from Friday evening to Saturday night, in several locations in Dijon's historic city center: the cour d'honneur and Académie hall of the Municipal Library (5 rue de l'École de droit), Place François Rude for the publishers' market, Hôtel de Vogüé for the youth exhibition and family workshop, and the Salle des États of the Palais des Ducs for the "Pleadings for a Detective Novel".
The 2026 edition notably brings together Georges Vigarello — historian and sociologist of the body, director of studies at EHESS — for the inaugural meeting, Floriane Soulas (Soma, Robert Laffont) and Blanche Sabbah (La Cité des dames, Dargaud) at the literary brunch, Séphora Pondi (Avale, Grasset) and Grégory Le Floch (Peau d'ourse, Seuil) for « Corps à la merci » (Body at Mercy), Hélène Laurain (Tambora, Verdier) and Anna Meril (Les Fruits rouges, Le Nouvel Attila) for « Corps de femmes – corps de mères » (Bodies of Women – Bodies of Mothers), as well as comic book authors Chloé Wary and Antonin Crenn. The entire program is designed by Sonia Déchamps, literary advisor for Clameur(s).
Beyond the literary meetings, the weekend offers a publishers' market from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (22 publishers present, organized with the Agence Livre & Lecture BFC), an exhibition « Mille et un corps » (A Thousand and One Bodies) resulting from the artist residency with Lucie Albon, plastic arts workshops, a contemporary contortion performance by Lise Pauton (RaieManta Compagnie), the Pleadings for a Detective Novel in partnership with the Dijon Bar Association, flash tattoos from Mazette Tattoo Studio, and a closing DJ set by Dijon artist Païkan.
