Chamber music festival on the Crozon peninsula
Classic' à l'Ouest is a chamber music festival that takes place every summer in the heritage sites of the Crozon peninsula, at the end of Finistère. Founded in 2021 by cellist Barbara Chambellant, this festival invites renowned artists to share special moments around essential masterpieces of the chamber repertoire in historic chapels and churches in Camaret-sur-Mer, Crozon, Roscanvel, Lanvéoc, and Landévennec. Each concert is followed by a glass of cider shared with the musicians, in a spirit of conviviality and accessibility. Those under 18 benefit from free entry to all concerts, and youth performances are scheduled for each edition.
Classic' à l'Ouest is a chamber music festival that began in 2021 on the Crozon peninsula, at the tip of Finistère. Founded by cellist Barbara Chambellant, this intimate festival offers a series of classical music concerts every summer in exceptional heritage locations: Romanesque chapels, historic churches, and remarkable sites in Camaret-sur-Mer, Crozon, Roscanvel, Lanvéoc, and Landévennec.
The programming of Classic' à l'Ouest highlights major names in French classical music. Pianists, violinists, cellists, opera singers, and chamber ensembles perform in stunningly beautiful venues, creating a unique alchemy between architectural heritage and musical excellence. The intimate format of the concerts, with limited seating, fosters a rare closeness between the artists and the audience.
Accessibility is at the heart of the Classic' à l'Ouest project. Under 18s benefit from free entry to all concerts, a strong initiative to introduce younger generations to classical music. Each concert is followed by a glass of cider shared with the musicians, a special moment of exchange that helps demystify classical music and bring it closer to the public.
Classic' à l'Ouest places a special emphasis on young audiences. Performances specifically designed for children are scheduled for each edition, such as Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, allowing younger ones to discover classical music masterpieces in a welcoming and fun environment.
The Crozon Peninsula, designated as a Regional Natural Park of Armorica, provides an exceptional natural setting for the festival. Between spectacular cliffs, wild beaches, and remarkable built heritage, the area becomes an integral partner in the musical experience. The concerts offer opportunities to discover often little-known places, thus contributing to the valorization of local heritage.
The 4th edition of Classic' à l'Ouest offers 6 chamber music concerts in the heritage sites of the Crozon peninsula with prestigious artists: Claire Désert, Régis Pasquier, Romain Leleu, Philippe Cassard, Karine Deshayes, and Delphine Haidan.
